Eileen Hull Sizzix Collection

Morning and welcome to my monthly post as part of the Eileen Hull DT.
This month the DT are showcasing Eileen Hull's Heartfelt collection and inspiring you to use them in different ways.
I have combined the Eileen Hull ScoreBoards XL Die Journal with the ScoreBoards XL Die Cantilever Sewing Box, using only the boxes from the Sewing Box as little shadow boxes to add to the inside of the Journal cover.
  1. Paint both the outer and inside of the Journal with Raw Umber DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Paint and then dry with a heat tool.
  2. Apply a good even coat of Crackle Paint and allow the Paint to dry naturally. The cracks are fabulous and add wonderful texture to the design.
  3. Machine stitch the front and back covers together, leaving the threads for added texture.
  4. Stamp Tim Holtz flower from his Flower Garden Set onto the cover using Black Archival Ink and then stamp the flower heads once again onto a piece of scrap white card. Colour the flowers with Zig Real Color Brush Pens. Add the two coloured flowers to the cover, adding cotton threads behind for added texture.
  5. Place Tim Holtz Layering Stencil onto the background and apply Vintage Photo Distress Oxide over the stencil using a piece of Cut 'n' Dry Foam, spritz the stencilled area with water and then dry with a heat tool. Repeat this process to add random stencilling around the covers.
  6. Add some Chatter Design Tape randomly around the cover along with some random background stamping using the background stamp from the On The Farm Stamp Set.
The crackle and cotton threads add wonderful texture to the design. I also added delicate splatters of black paint.
The flower heads add further dimension to the design. I also sanded the edges of the Journal to age further.
I added a touch more Raw Umber Paint around the sanded edges.
I added the two boxes from the Cantilever Sewing Box to the inside of my Journal to act as mini shadow boxes. I painted each box with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Paints Titan Buff and Raw Umber, wiping away any excess paint with a damp baby wipe.
I added a few strips of masking tape for added texture and applied Distress Crayon Gathered Twigs around the edges of the tape to age and to add a touch of shading. Paper Dolls add further interest along with some Bouquet Flowers from Tim Holtz and some rolls of vintage paper.
I added a touch of stencilling to the apposite site along with a piece of Idea-ology Ruler and a further Paper Doll.
I added a couple of strips of masking tape to the shadow boxes for further texture before painting.
I coloured each of my bottles with Rust Alcohol Ink and added somre further random pieces of Chatter Design Tape to the background.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

Fabulous! Tracy Love how you have incorporated little shadow boxes inside instead of the usual signatures. Lovely texture ,imagery and sepia tones on the covers and the paper dolls are so darn cute- the little baby girl sat on the ruler melts my heart whenever I see her .

I love, love, love this journal with a surprise inside. The neutral colour palette is so calming and the crackle texture and thread make a great background for the flowers. The little vintage vignettes inside are just plain sweet.
Hugs!

The boxed areas on the inside are fantastic, I just love the little bottles with the flowers, so amazing.
