Winter Wishes
This week for Artistic Outpost I am using the SNOWY WOODS stamp set.
I decorated the background with Tim Holtz star layering stencil using Pine Needles Distress Ink, blending a touch of colour around the edges.. I also added a touch of background stamping using Potting Soil Archival Ink.
I added a second layer again with stencilled stars, applying background stamping to the stars and matting onto a piece of brown Core'dinations card stock. A central panel has been added along with Winter Wishes using Tim Holtz Holiday Words.
I cut out three stars from white card stamped the Father Christmas image onto one of the stars and added a touch of shading with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Two further stars have been cut from white card and this time stamped with images from the CHRISTMAS CHALK stamp set stamping each of the images with Potting Soil Archival Ink.

Floral Wish
I decided for a more feminine make this week for Katzelkraft using the Collage Equinoxe stamp.
The background has been embossed using the Faux Letterpress technique. Simply apply ink, in this case Picked Raspberry directly to the embossing folder, place kraft card inside the folder and then run through a die cutting machine to emboss.
I stamped the focal image with VersaMark ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. I then coloured the image with Prismacolour Pencils and blended the colours together with a white pencil. I also added a touch of background stamping, applying Snowflake paint to the stamp and stamping randomly around the backround.
I added a small tag stamped with a wish sentiment using Tim Holtz Hashtags stamps, stamping with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.
For a further layer of interest I also included a few delicate splatters of Picked Raspberry Distress Paint.

Artistic Outpost Monthly Blog Hop
It's time for our monthly blog hop with Artistic Outpost and this month we are showcasing WINTER/CHRISTMAS sets or thinking outside the box and using sets with holiday colours. I chose to showcase my favourite plate, Snowy Woods.
I am loving using neutral tones for my Christmas cards and kraft is perfect to add a rustic touch. The background has been embossed and sanded to reveal the core.
I applied embossing paste through a Tim Holtz layering stencil onto kraft card and then applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges. I love adding lots of layers of interest to my designs. I added 'believe' using a ShadowPress and Potting Soil Archival Ink.
I die cut two baubles from kraft card and then stamped the Father Christmas image onto each bauble using Potting Soil Archival Ink, blending Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges. I also tried my hand at some metal stamping and added two circles to the top of each bauble stamping 'joy' onto each and ageing with Black Soot Distress Paint and a touch of Alcohol Ink.
My fellow Design Team members have made some fabulous pieces to inspire you, please pop along and visit their blogs and be inspired along the way.

Rustic Charm
I am still concentrating on making a few Christmas cards and today I am using the Christmas Tree stamp from Katzelkraft.
Once again I am working with kraft card and to create my background I applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink to Tim Holtz Star Layering Stencil, spritzed with water and then placed the stencil onto the card. I also added a touch of background stamping with Potting Soil Archival Ink.
The Christmas tree has been stamped onto kraft card with Potting Soil Archival Ink and matted onto a dark brown card stock. I have also applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges for definition.
I placed the Layering Stencil over my Christmas Tree image and then used Tim Holtz spritzer and a Distress Marker to add subtle stars to the background and I sprayed all my layers with Biscotti Perfect Pearl Mist to add a touch of shimmer.
I added a further layer of interest to my design applying embossing paste through the Layering Stencil for added texture applying Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges. I also died some seam binding with Distress Ink and added to the top of my card along with a Tidings Token. A also included a small 'believe' banner using Remnant Rubs.
A rust star also adds another element of texture to my design.

BELIEVE
I am working on my Christmas cards at the moment to try and get ahead and today I have created a festive card for Artistic Outpost.
The background has been coloured with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain and Pine Needles Distress Ink, applying both to a non-stick craft sheet, spritzing with water and then mopping up the beads of ink. I then embossed the background piece to add further interest and highlighted the texture and design with Treasure Gold Olive Bronze Wax.
I added some seam binding which I coloured with Pine Needles Distress Ink along with some natural twine and a Tim Holtz Tidings Token.
I added the Father Christmas image from the Snowy Woods plate to a die cut frame die cut using the Our Daily Bread Elegant Oval Dies. Natural twine has been added behind my focal point for added texture and interest.
I used Tim Holtz ShadowPress to add 'believe' to the bottom of my card along with mirrored stars which I coloured with Alcohol Inks to coordinate with my design.
A monocle has been added to the focal image, adding touches of Tarnished Brass Distress Paint to the monocle so that it blends with my design. I also added a further Tidings Token attached to the monocle. From this picture you can also see the shimmer from the wax added to the embossed design.

Believe
I am making a head start on my Christmas cards this year so that I am organised and can enjoy the festivities in December. With this in mind I have created a Christmas card for Artistic Outpost using the fabulous Snowy Woods stamp set.
I love using red for Christmas and I love the combination of red and white and that was my inspiration for this card. The background was created using Tim Holtz Holiday Knit Layering Stencil, embossing the design with white embossing powder onto red card.
I stamped the focal image onto a heart stamping with Vermillion Archival Ink and adding touches of Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges.
I used the Christmas Layering Stencil to add 'believe' and 'joy' to my card using Vermillion ink .
I cut out two further hearts stamped one with 'joyeux noel' and the smaller heart with 'Dec' adding a touch of Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges of each heart. I also added touches of a snowflake garland to the top and bottom edges for added interest.

Rustic Christmas
Time for this weeks DT creation for Katzelkraft. This week I am showcasing the Christmas Tree stamp.
I am really enjoying using kraft card at the moment I love the rustic appeal. The background of my card has been embossed with a heart embossing folder and then dry brushed with Gesso.
I have then added a second panel of kraft card applying embossing paste through Tim Holtz Hollybough Layering Stencil and applying Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges to add to the rustic feel.
Three dimensional flowers have been added for further interest and I have applied a touch of Gesso to the petals.
I have used Tim Holtz Christmas Shadow Press embossing folder to add 'tis the season' to the bottom of my card applying Vermillion Archival Ink directly to the embossing folder and then running through my die cutting machine.
I have stamped the Christmas Tree image with Vermillion Archival Ink onto kraft card, applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink blended around the image and then added Vermillion Archival Ink to the edges. I love the touches of red combined with the kraft card.

Halloween Album
Well another month has flown by and it's time once again for a fabulous Eileen Hull Art with Heart Challenge and this month our theme is TRICKS AND TREATS, which you can take literally with a Halloween theme or show one of your favourite creative "tricks" and "treat" us to a creative feast for the eyes!
I had to indulge my love of creating Halloween projects and opted for a Halloween mini album using Eileen Hull's Mini Album Die. The background has been created using Wendy Vecchi's Archival Re-inker technique which I love, I used Orange Blossom and Potting Soil Re-inkers.
Once I had created my background with Alcohol Re-inkers I then placed Tim Holtz Gothic Mask onto the background and applied VersaMark Ink over the mask, removed the mask and then applied Clear Embossing Powder and heated to melt the powder. I then applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the embossed design and the stencilled design pops against the background, I love it!
I used Tim Holtz Occasions Found Relatives and used his Distress Photo Tinting technique which happens to be the challenge over at the Compendium Of Curiosities Challenge 3, Challenge 12. Linda from The Funkie Junkie Boutique is back to sponser this challenge with a very generous $25 prize, and the Curiosity Crew have a wonderful array of projects to inspire you .
I also included a monocle with added Remnant Rub for added interest. To give my mini album a more aged feel I also poured Beeswax over the top edges of the album and allowed it to run down the page. If you look closely you can see some of that towards the top of the image.
I also die cut three mini pumpkins, which I die cut from my Re-inker background and then applied Clear Rock Candy Crackle over the top and once dry I applied touches of Potting Soil Archival Ink over the top to highlight the cracks. I also included a 'pumpkin' Chitchat Sticker.
Pages have been added to the inside of the Mini album coloured with Distress Inks Wild Honey and Vintage Photo, applying the inks to a non-stick craft sheet and spritzing with water and then picking up the beads of ink with my card. I then applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink through the Gothic Layering Stencil to add a further layer of detail to the background and I then flicked the background with water to add bleached out areas. White Embossing Paste has been applied through the Halloween Layering stencil to add 'FRIGHTFUL' to the bottom of my page. I die cut the Umbrella man from Grungepaper and used Tim Holtz Effect Powders technique and adding a skull Remnant Rub to his head. Again I dripped Beeswax down my page to add further interest and texture. Mini Tattered Leaves have been cut from white card and coloured with Distress Paints, adding touches of background stamping. I also included mini skull beads and a touch of random background stamping to the background of the page.
Some of the pages have been left blank so that I can add pictures from our Halloween celebrations.
I added the Found Relatives image once again to the inside of my album along with more Mini Tattered Leaves. I also included cobwebs die cut from black card, complete with a mini metal spider.
For my final set of pages I die cut the Layered Leaf, embossed the leaf with the coordinating embossing folder and then applied white wax crayon to the embossed areas (inspired by my fellow team member Anna-Karin), colouring the leaf with Distress Inks and then removing the inks from the wax crayon areas using a damp piece of kitchen towel. I also added burlap to the backdrop for added texture along with a mini pumpkin embellishment coloured with a touch of Black Soot Distress Paint.
The Mini Album die from Eileen Hull is so versatile and you can add as many pages as you like and would also make a perfect mini scrapbook too.
I added natural twine to the spine of my book along with burlap fabric.
There is a great prize on offer and wonderful inspiration from my fellow team members too. Pop over to Eileen Hull's blog for all the details.

Rustic Christmas
Today I am showcasing the fabulous SNOWY WOODS plate from Artistic Outpost to create a rustic Christmas card.
I began by die cutting a tag from kraft card using the tag and bookplate die and then adding embossing paste through Tim Holtz Holiday Knit Layering Stencil and allowing to dry and then applying Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges to add a little warmth to the design.
'CHRISTMAS' has also been added again applying embossing paste through Tim Holtz Christmas stencil and adding Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges. I stamped the focal image onto white card and then coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then flicked water onto the background to give a distressed feel.
A snowflake garland trim has been added to the bottom of my image to add further interest, I love adding different layers and textures to my designs.
I also included two dimensional flowers and added Gesso to the edges of the petals to give a snowy feel to the design. I also included a mini tag stamped with the 'snowy' sentiment from the same stamp plate. For the finishing touches I added natural twine and a Christmas token, along with Remnant Rubs.
