Vintage Canvas

Morning everyone, hope you are enjoying your Christmas festivities. Today I am showcasing a mixed media canvas using my newly released A6 Stamp "Style It" #245, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I loved creating this canvas, just losing myself in creating lots of layers for a real tactile piece.
I began by applying lots of layers of vintage book pages and then colouring those pages with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I then added a layer of crackle paste for further texture and interest.
An embroidery hoop seemed the perfect partner with the focal imagery, once again I coloured the hoop with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and added touches of Gold Wax for a metallic touch.
I incorporated some threads and soft metal wire for a further textural element. I also added dimension to my bodice.
A small twig heart and some coordinated stones finish the design.
I added a touch of colour to the crackle paste, applying Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the surface. I pressed my Ink onto a non-stick craft sheet, spritzed with water and then used a water brush to add a wash over the texture.

Wildflower

Morning everyone, hope you are enjoying your Christmas. Today I am showcasing a mixed media card using my newly released A5 Stamp "Wild and Free" #238, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
For my background I applied Distress Oxide Inks Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Broken China to an acrylic block, spritzed the inks with water and then placed the acrylic block ink side down onto my card and allowed the ink to sit for a few moments and then lifted the block from the card. I allowed the inks to dry naturally.
I stamped the flower head twice onto coloured card, coloured with the same Distress Oxide Inks, cut out each flower head, added one to my card and then added clear embossing powder to the second flower head. I then added this to my card. I love the textural sheen and the dimension this gives to the flower.
A touch of calico adds further texture.

Teasel

Today I am showcasing a mixed media card  using my newly released A5 Stamp "Teasel" #239, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I opted for a fresh palette today, using my Teasel stamp, I love using greens with this image, it seems to work so well, especially for a natural element.
I also added a touch of texture, applying paste through stencil #50. I coloured my Texture paste with a touch of Peeled Paint Distress Paint so that it coordinated with my other elements.
I added spotlights to my design with some shading and a die cut circle. I stamped with Distress Oxide Ink so therefore I could use a waterbrush and blend some of the colour into the leaves.
I also incorporated some of my trademark doodling along with some cotton thread for added texture.

Moments

Today I am showcasing a mixed media card  using my newly released Border Stamp "Flower Moments" #233, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
This time around I have opted for a more delicate colour scheme, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Broken China, adding only touches of each colour so that I don't over power the design.
I love the touches of white on this piece, achieved by applying white acrylic paint to the wood slice stencil, spritzing with water and then placing the stencil, paint side down onto my artwork.
I have also included further dimension on my flowres and also with the inclusion of the wood slice.
Once again I have added elements of Calico for further texture and drawn the eye into the design with some of my doodled borders.

Flower Moments

Welcome, hope you are all enjoying the festive build up and are ready for Christmas. Today I am showcasing a mixed media card  using my newly released Border Stamp "Flower Moments" #233, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love the delicacy of this flower and I love showcasing different ways to add spotlights to my design.
This time around my spotlight is created using clear embossing powder, I love the texture this gives to my design.
Distress Oxides Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry have been used to give that rich pop of colour to my design.
Stamping my sentiments onto calico also adds further texture to my design. I also included an Art Pebble for added dimension.

Dipsacus

Today I am showcasing a mixed media card  using my newly released A5 Stamp "Teasel" #239, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I opted for fresh greens this time around for my teasel image. I also feel the green gives this piece a really natural organic feel.
I am always looking for different ways to add textural elements to my designs and this time around I opted to stamp onto layers of kitchen towel which I had stitched together.
I included some metal elements to add further interest to the design. I also love the random stitching on this piece which gives a further textural element.
I stamped with Archival Ink onto the tissue to ensure the ink did not bleed.
A few delicate splatters of black work so well for me against the freshness of the green. I also added some black stamping onto the metal piece using my number background from my Brush Flower Stamp set #234.
A few pieces of vintage book pages finish my piece.

Teasel

Today I am showcasing a mixed media card  using my newly released A5 Stamp "Teasel" #239, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love this teasel stamp, which was inspired from a walk around my garden. I applied Distress Oxide Inks and Infusions to my Gel Press and then took a print. I then added further colour by smooshing Wilted Violet Distress Ink across the background to add another pop of colour.
I added a spotlight to the teasel, stamping the head of the flower a second time onto a white die cut circle, stamping with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink.
I added a few pieces of vintage book pages, which I love adding to my pieces just to give my artwork another personal touch.
Another favourite for me is stamping onto calico pieces, it again adds a further texture to my designs.
A few delicate splatters of Peeled Paint Distress Paint add further interest.

Floral Card

Today I am showcasing a mixed media card  using my newly released A6 Stamp "Timeless Moments" #243, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
Sometimes I just love adding lots of layers with paint to my background and this piece was created doing just that, simply adding layers of paint with my brayer. I added light layers of Fresco Paints, adding lots of layers to add texture and depth to my piece.
I used Turquoise and Slimed paints and added touch of lightness with Aqua Duck Egg to lift the design.
I also incorporated more white layers, applying Snowflake paint to a stencil, spritzing with water and then laying the stencil, paint side down, onto my work. I love how the white makes everything pop.
I also incorporated further white layers, adding white paint to an old paint lid and pressing the lid onto my background. I finished my card with a touch of doodling and some red flowers.
