She Could Believe

I have created a card today using Tim Holtz products.
The background has been created with Distress Paints Squeezed Lemonade, Fired Brick, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron and Ripe Persimmon. All added to my non stick craft sheet spritzed with water and mopped up with my card. I applied three colours first and then took time to layer the colours one by one.
I added a Paper Doll holding a Wildflower to echo the Wildflowers in the background.
Some doodling with a white pen to lift the whole design.
A Clippings Sticker for the sentiment.
A touch of background stamping using the background stamp from Tim Holtz On The Farm stamp set.

See Possibility Everywhere

I thought I would make something a litte different today, using Tim Holtz products.
I created my background using Distress Oxide Inks Vintage Photo, Fossilized Amber and Broken China.
I drew a body from white card and then coloured with Distress Oxide Broken China and then added a monoprint using Tim's number stencil and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I also added Remnant Rubs for added interest along with wings using Tim Holtz Detailed Butterflies Mini Die.
I added two Index Clips for added interest and texture along with some delicate splatters of Black Soot Paint.
I added a head which is a mould, and added Remnant Rubs to her face for added interest. I also included some chicken wire for added texture in the background.
I love how all the layers are visible in my design, I love adding lots of layers.
I added die cut pieces from Tim Holtz Cityscape, Metropolis die to the base of her dress, all coloured with Distress Oxides.
I would also like to enter this piece into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme is "It's A Frame Up".

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely week. Tracy x x

AALLandCreate Exclusive Designs

I am back today with another post this time showcasing some of the Exclusive Stamps from AALLandCreate. All Exclusive Stamps are available from the Boutique, link below:

I created a journal using Eileen Hull's Sizzix XL Scoreboard Journal Die which I painted with DecoArt Fluid Acrylic and added some lime highlights using IndigoBlu's Lime Marmalade Paint. On the front cover I have used my Exclusive Bird Stamps along with Fiona's and Autour De Mwa Stamp Sets all of which can be found at the Boutique
I have decorated several pages inside using the same colour combination.
I stamped my bird image onto a piece of fabric and machine stitched arouond the edge. For added texture I also included some chicken wire from my garden. The number 4 from Fiona's set has been stamped with paint, the same with the number 382.
I addeed some flowers from Tim Holtz Idea-ology range, once again painted with the IndigoBlu Lime paint.
The circles at the top of my journal are from Autour De Mwa stamp set and I also added some texture paste stencilling behind all my detail.
I also included a spoon for added interest along with a Small Talk Sticker and added delicate splatters of paint to the cover.
I love adding layers to my designs.
I decorated one page using Bipasha BK designs, Ilove that face. I also included some background stencilling using the monoprint technique using a stencil. I also added a feather and background stamping using Fiona and Autour De Mwa Stamp Sets.
A little close up so you can see more of the detail.
I love to leave some white space visible on my pages.
My second page uses imagery from Olga's stamp set and background stamping using Fiona and Autour De Mwa Stamp sets.
Again another close up shot so that you can see all the layered details.
My final page uses focal imagery from my own personal Stamp Set. I love these birds. I have added touches of chicken wire to echo that on my cover and added background stamping from Fiona's and Autour De Mwa Stamp Sets.
Closer detailed shot to show all the layers added to my page.
The pages of the journal slide in and out and can be added to as and when.
The video below shows all the ten Exclusive Stamp Designs.

A Vintage Journey Challenge - Use A Quote

Welcome to our new challenge for A Vintage Journey. This month our host is the lovely Jenny and our challenge is to "Use A Quote".

Here is what Jenny had to say about her challenge.

"Take a quote! Any quote! Whether it be on a stamp, a sticker, handwritten or sourced from the internet and incorporate it in your vintage; shabby; mixed media; art journaling, industrial, timeworn or steampunk project".
This month the Creative Guides are using substrates from That's Crafty and I opted for one of the upright substrates the MDF Upright Torn Note Page. Although my sentiment does not take centre stage it does play a huge part in the design, its says everything I wanted to say in just a few words.
I began by applying a coat of Gesso to the substrate and then drying with a heat tool. I then added a few pea sized amount of Dina Wakley's Heavy Body Acrylic to the substrate; in this case Ocean, Turquoise and Lime.
I then brayered the paint over the substrate.
I continued to brayer until I was happy with the blend of colours.
Dry the paint with a heat tool and then repeat the same process for the reverse of the substrate.
I then applied Dina Wakley's Ruby Acrylic Paint to a piece of scrap white card and then spread the paint out with a paintbrush.
Press the painted card lightly onto the background of the substrate.
Touching the substrate lightly with the painted scrap of card adds delicate layers of colour to the background.
Continue with this process until you are happy with the touches of colour added to the background.
Paint the Prima Resin Chantilly Royal Frame with a layer of Finnabair's Brass Paste and then dry with a heat tool.
Add the Blue and Mint Green Pastes to the frame using a pouncing, stippling motion, adding layers of each colour to the frame.
Continue with this process until you are happy with the coverage of Patina Paste.
Rub over the frame to remove any excess loose particles of paste and then apply the Brass Paste with a finger over the raised areas, applying only a little Paste at a time. This will highlight all the fabulous detail on the frame.
The Brass Paste finishes off the frame perfectly.
Paint a rusty tin heart with a coat of Ruby Acrylic Paint and then dry with a heat tool and then apply a second coat but this time with a finger, dabbing the paint onto the heart to give texture and then dry with a heat tool.
At this point before adding the frame to the substrate I decided to add rusty wire wrapped around the frame for added texture.
I added random torn edges from a note pad to echo the torn edge of the substrate. I coloured the torn edges with Acrylic Paint.
I added the sticker quote "it's the little things that make life big" to add an important message to my piece.
I added touches of Ruby Acrylic to the base of the substrate to echo those in the main feature.
Before I added the heart I painted a scrap of white card with Turquoise Heavy Body Acrylic and then touched the card lightly onto the heart to add a touch more colour randomly to the heart and then dried with a heat tool. I also included a Salvage Doll from Tim Holtz Idea-ology range, again painted with Acrylic Paints, applied with my finger.
Hope you enjoyed the step by steps and I look forward to seeing your entries to this months challenge.

Our sponsor this month is That's Crafty who are offering a voucher to one randomly chosen winner.
