I have used the GENERATION REDUX plate from Artistic Outpost this week to create a masculine card.
I have decorated the background of my card with background stamps from the Generation Redux plate stamping with Potting Soil Archival Ink and then colouring the background with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and flicking with water. I have also added touches of harlequin using the Harlequin Layering Stencil.
I have stamped the gentlemen onto white card, coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and flicked with water. I have also distressed the edges to add to the aged worn feel.
Label Letters have been used to add TRAVEL to my design along with Remnant Rubs words to add travel the world onto my clock. A Stencil Mark has been added to the top of the card, coloured with Alcohol Ink to age.
Items from Tim Holtz Ephemera have been added to give further layers of interest to my design.
For further interest I have included a letter 'T' for TRAVEL and a buckle for added dimension.

Be Yourself
From soft buttery yellow to electric neon, this week the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge would like you to be inspired by yellow.
To be honest I rarely use yellow in my creative pieces and I don't know why but I think there are always colours that we tend to not be drawn towards and for me it's yellow. However, after making this piece I have a new found love for yellow! I painted a chunky ATC with Mustard Seed Distress Paint and decided to combine yellow with touches of blue in my design.
I die cut two ATC's using the ATC and Corners die, applied Mustard Seed Distress Ink to a non-stick craft sheet, spritzed with water and then mopped up the beads of ink with the die cut ATC. I dried the ink and then added Salty Ocean Distress Ink, repeated the same process to add touches of blue to the ATC. I repeated this process for both ATC's, one for the front and one for the back. I added stencilled numbers to the backdrop of each ATC using the Cargo Layering Stencil and Saffron Archival Ink to add a further layer of interest in the backdrop.
I stamped the winged girl from Tim Holtz Winged Things 1 stamp set onto white card using Potting Soil Archival Ink and then coloured with Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean Distress Inks, once again adding the inks to a non-stick craft sheet. I then cut out the image and fixed to the ATC. I added dimension to the wings, adding two layers to add further dimension and movement.
I added a Bitty Blossom to the bottom of the ATC, die cut from white card, colouring with Mustard Seed Distress Ink and then adding Saffron to the edges of the petals. I added an Alpha Parts Numeric piece to both sides of the ATC, colouring each number with a touch of Mustard Seed Distress Paint. For added interest I also included a Numbered Brad attached to a Memo Pin.
The numbered theme continues on all sides of the ATC.
I have added spools as feet for the ATC and also added a further spool to the top of the ATC, all painted with Distress Paint. 'be yourself' has been added to the spool from the Winged Things stamp, coloured with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. A further Numbered Alpha Part has been added to the top along with a Bitty Blossom, Numbered Brad and Memo Pin.
On the reverse I have added the number two, stamped onto white card using the Tim Holtz Numeric stamp set and Saffron and touches of Potting Soil Archival Inks. I cut out the number two and then added to the ATC. I repeated the number two's using Numbered Alpha Parts and a Numbered Brad added to a Memo Pin. To complete I have added a further Bitty Blossom.

Find Joy In The Ordinary
This week I am showcasing the BUTTERFLIES stamp set from Katzelkraft.
The background has been created with Picked Raspberry and Weathered Wood Distress Inks, applying them to a non-stick craft sheet and spritzing with water and then mopping up the ink with the tag. I also added some splatters to the background using the Speckles Layering Stencil to add a further layer of interest.
A touch of background stamping has been adding using Watering Can Archival Ink along with small leaves around the outside edges. I inked the Echinacea flower with Magenta Hue and Watering Can Archival Ink and stamped twice to the bottom of the tag.
I die cut a circle from white card, coloured with Weathered Wood Distress Ink and then stamped the image once again using Archival Inks. I also added birds and 'discover' using Botanical Remnant Rubs to add further interest.

A Masculine Touch
Time for our monthly BLOG HOP with Artistic Outpost and this month it is designers choice, so we have artistic freedom to use any of their fabulous selection of images.
I am showcasing the wonderful GENERATION REDUX plate this time around.
Once again I have gone for a masculine piece this week creating a background using Wendy Vecchi's Crackled Texture Paste, colouring the background with Faded Jeans Distress Stain and then colouring the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to age.
I die cut the Weathered Clock from white card and coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and then cut in half and added separately to my tag. I then stamped the masculine image, cut in half and added half to each piece of Weathered Clock. Both pieces have been coloured with Distress Ink and flicked with water to add to the aged feel.
A chunky twine bow and clock button have been added to the top of my tag along with a piece of burlap for added texture. I have also added some background stamping using the number background stamp from the set and Potting Soil Archival Ink.
Remnant Rubs have been added over the tag to add a further layer of interest along with a buckle threaded with burlap to add a further masculine touch.
My fellow Design Team members have made some fabulous pieces to inspire you, please pop along and visit their blogs and be inspired along the way.

Flowers Blooming
This week the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is all about the big stamp, whether it is a backgroud, large image, pattern, or maybe just a big stamp pad, we would love to see how you interpret our challenge this week.
I decided to use the large ruler background stamp from Tim Holtz Artful Tools stamp set. However, just because we are using large stamps this week does not mean we have to use the whole image, so I decided to use a large stamp in a small way, adding it to my background on my canvas stamped with Black Archival Ink.
Texture has been added to my backdrop applying Wendy Vecchi's White Embossing Paste through Tim Holtz Doily Layering Stencil. I then painted my canvas with Gathered Twigs Distress Paint, applying water to my canvas first and allowing the colour to also run down the canvas. I love how the colour is darker and lighter in areas. Once dry I then added a touch of Picket Fence Distress Paint.
The Jumbo Tattered Floral takes centre stage on my canvas die cut from corrugated card to add further texture to my design. The corrugated card was sprayed with a touch of Melted Chocolate Dylusions Ink Spray and the edges coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. An Idea-ology Foliage Flower has been added to the centre of the Jumbo Tattered Floral, colouring the metal with a touch of PaperArtsy Treasure Gold Olive Bronze Wax.
I also dry brushed Olive Bronze wax over the embossed design in the background and rubbed more wax onto the corners of my canvas. I added a Ruler Binder as the stem to my flower, adding a Word Band to the top of the ruler stem, colouring the Word Band with a touch of Olive Bronze Wax.
Olive Bronze Wax has also been added to the Jumbo Tattered Floral. I love all the layers in this huge flower.

BLOOM
This week I am showcasing the PHYSALIS HUMMINGBIRD stamp set from Katzelkraft.
I decorated the background of my tag with Spiced Marmalade and Broken China Distress Inks, applying the inks to a non-stick craft sheet, spritzing with water and then mopping up the beads of ink with the tag.
I applied Monarch Orange and Potting Soil Archival Inks to my stamp and then stamped the image three times onto the tag.
I used Bontanical Remnant Rubs to add the bird and other elements to the background for added interest.
BLOOM has been added to the tag using Label Letters and I have included a letter 'B' for BLOOM. I have also stamped the leaves from the focal image to the top of my tag. Natural twine adds a rustic element to my design.

Winged Things
This weeks challenge was my suggestion "Winged Things". Will you use a
favourite bird stamp? Add fairy wings to something? Create a tag
featuring a spring scene? Accent a scrapbook page with butterflies?
There are so many possibilities. Perhaps you will create something
travel inspired or even journal about what you would do if you were a
winged thing! However you interpret the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge we cannot wait to see your artwork.
I have some step by steps for you today over on the Simon Says Stamp blog.

You Were Born To Stand Out
Time for my weekly DT post for Artistic Outpost and this week I am showcasing the fabulous THINK AND WONDER plate.
I have opted for a more masculine make this time around colouring the background with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and then adding stencilled numbers in the backdrop using the Numbered Layering Stencil. I have then flicked the background with water to add blotches.
I have stamped the focal image onto a piece of white card using Black Archival Ink and then coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, again adding stencilled numbers to the backdrop for added interest. I have repeat stamped the image onto a circular piece and added to a bottle cap coloured with Ginger Alcohol Ink.
I have used that wonderful Lattice Frameworks die once again, die cut from black card and I have added the diamonds back into the lattice, stamped with parts of the image to echo that of the focal image. 'explore life' is a Remnant Rub which also adds a further layer of interest. I have also included a Stancil Mark added to the top of my tag, again coloured with Alcohol Ink.
I love the sentiment which I added to the bottom of my tag, along with more touches of the Lattice Frameworks pieces.
