Today I am showcasing a mixed media card using my newly released A4Stamp "On Dragonfly Wings" #230, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
My background has been created on my Gel Press using PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Sour Grapes, Sugar Plum and Lake Winaka. I applied Sour Grapes and Sugar Plum to my Gel press first and then lay down the Lotza Dotz Stencil onto the Gel press to achieve a print, removed the stencil and then repeated. I then placed my white card onto the Gel Press to take a print.
For my second layer, to add more depth, I added light touches of Lake Winaka to my Gel Press and then lightly dabbed my card onto the paint, this adds light touches of a contrasting colour in the background, also bringing depth to the design.
I placed the Lotza Dotz Stencil back onto the Gel Press and then brayered Lake Winaka Paint over the stencil, leaving the stencil in place I then pressed my background piece onto the stencil. I repeated this process twice.
Once you have finished layering paint you can then take a second, clean up print, by applying Chalk Paint or any light colour across the Gel Press, just a light layer and then press the card onto the Gel Press, pressing firmly and then remove card. This is often the best print for me.
I added a touch of background stamping using the number stamp from my "Brush Flower" Border Stamp, I love this stamp, so useful for adding background touches.
Hand stitching has been added to give further texture along with a circular piece of black twine, stapled into place.
I also added some Art Pebbles for further dimension and I also incorporated some white circles of paint and delicate splatters.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

On Dragonfly Wings
Today I am showcasing a mixed media card using my newly released A4Stamp "On Dragonfly Wings" #230, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I am so thrilled with the way my A4 stamp turned out, the detail is fantastic and just as I had planned. I have added my dragonfly, this time around, to a mixed media background using a clean up piece from my Gel Press.
I added three layers to the wings for added dimension, trapping cotton threads behind for added texture. I also added clear embossing powder to the wings for a further texture.
The background reminds me of worn wall paper and I love how the layers are all visible with also touches of white space.
I incorporated some hand stitching and also further touches of white with painty circles and splatters of white paint.
A circular piece of wire stapled into place and touches of metal along with stamped calico add further interest to my design.

Wild and Free
Today I am showcasing a mixed media card using my newly released A5 Stamp "Wild and Free" #238, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love creating backgrounds on the Gel Press and this background is simply a clean up of my brayer and to be honest these are often my most favourite backgrounds and this is no exception. I adore the aged worn wallpaper look that you achieve.
Textural elements include stamped calico and some vintage torn book pages along with a small paperclip for added interest and dimension.
I have also added some delicate splatters of white paint. The paints I have used are Fresco Finish Paints, which add a wonderful chalky finish to my design. The colours are Blue Oyster, Aqua Duck Egg and Coral which work so beautifully together.
I also added further dimension on my flower, adding two layers. This flower also looks fantastic when stamped onto book pages.

Blossom Wishes
I am showcasing an accordion card using my newly released A5 Stamp "Blossom Wishes" #240, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love creating accordions, its a different slant on a standard card and gives so much more space to experiment.
I created the background using stencils, which I demoed on my recent Weekend Wow Show on Hochanda, which you can still view on catch up. In brief, I layered Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink over my card, adding a good layer of colour and applying several layers of the same colour to give depth. Wipe over the background with an anti-static bag and then place your chosen stencil onto the inked background and then apply VersaMark over the stencil, remove the stencil and then sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder over the card. The Embossing Powder will only stick to the areas we applied the VersaMark. Heat the powder to melt and then once cool apply a layer of Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink over the entire area. Take a damp piece of kitchen towel and wipe over the embossed area; this will remove ink from the embossed area which resists the ink.
The wood grain stencil really works so well with my floral images. I also added a further background layer spritzing my stencil with water and laying the stencil water side down onto an inked background to give a bleached out effect, and this photo showcases that perfectly.
I also incorporated some hand doodling, which helps to draw the eye into the focal imagery. Incorporating torn book pages adds further texture along with some hand stitching.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your support during my recent shows. Tracy x x

Dreamer of Dreams
I created this piece just for fun. Sometimes its good to foget the deadlines and just go with the flow.
The background of my piece is made from tissue and a stencil and I love the outcome.
I machine stitched the piece to a piece of card and then added to an MDF piece.
The rusy nail was given to me by my friend Jo, she knows me so well. I also machine stitched two vintage ruler pieces to the background.
Chicken wire adds a further texture to my design.

I added a couple of cross stitches and added a clay face to my little vintage tin. I love adding vintage pieces to my artwork.

Timeless Accordion
I am showcasing an accordion card using my newly released A6 Stamp "Timeless Moments" #243, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love creating mini accordion cards and my A6 stamp is a perfect fit.
My background for each panel has been created with Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks, applying the inks to a non-stick craft sheet and mopping up the beads of ink with my card and then drying with a heat tool.
I love using calico in my pieces, just to add that further touch of texture.
One panel I have stamped with the sentiments from the set, I love these, sometimes sentiments can act as a focal image not just an added element to a design.
A touch of doodling around the edges of my accordion adds a further element to the design.
To complete, I added some delicate splatters of white paint.

Flower Moments
Today I am showcasing a card using my newly released Border Stamp "Flower Moments" #233, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love the delicacy of this border stamp and the wonderful background detail. I created a simple backdrop using Distress Oxide Inks Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Broken China, adding ink to an acrylic block and then spritzing with water and then laying the ink down onto the card.
I adore the blend of colours in the background and the touch of calico fabric adds a touch more texture.
I added a touch of dimension to my flowers and coloured the flowers with the same colours used in the background.
I also added a touch of doodling for further interest along with a couple of Tim Holtz Index Clips.

Wildflower
Today I am showcasing a card using my newly released A5 Stamp
"Wild and Free" #238 combined with my
newly released A7 Background Stamp "Squares" #260, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
A more vibrant colour palette this time around using Dina Wakley Paints Lemon, Tangerine and Magenta.
I added a small amount of each colour of paint to my non-stick craft sheet and then brayered each colour lightly across my card.
Any excess paint was brayered onto a scrap piece of card which I then stamped my squares onto and then cut them out and added to my card as an added detail.
WILDFLOWER has been stamped onto calico and I have also added a few delicate splatters of white paint to lift the whole design.
A couple of mini paper clips add further interest.
