Floral Silhouette

I'm showcasing the Floral Silhouette stamp set once again from Creative Expressions.
I've moved away from colour this time around and gone for a more monochromatic look.
If you look closely you will see that the backing paper is actually white card covered with Cosmic Shimmer Gunmetal Polished Glitter, this glitter is so fine and smooth to the touch, its fabulous.
The Floral Silhouette has been stamped with black Archival Ink and then stamped with pumice stone Distresss Ink to give a shadow effect. I have also added some black mesh for added texture along with a dimensional butterfly also from the same stamp set, adding a pen nib for added dimension.
GROW has been added using Alpha Parts again adding further dimension and interest.
The finishing touches are two metal flowers.

BOARDWALK

I've used the fabulous BOARDWALK plate once again from Artistic Outpost to create a card.
I wanted to use summery colours for this piece so opted for picked raspberry, spiced marmalade and spun sugar for the backdrop, applied to a non-stick craft sheet, spritzed with water, mopping up the beads of ink with the card stock.
I added machine stitching to the edges of my card along with some mesh material to the central panel for added interest and texture.
The focal images were stamped onto Distress Ink coloured card using black Archival Ink, distressing the edges with a paper distresser and adding to coordinated card stock. I also added 'SUMMER' using wooden letters coloured with Distress Ink.
I stamped the shells with Archival Ink and added BOARDWALK stamped in the background.

Exploding Card Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a step-by-step tutorial on the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog, inspired by this week's challenge theme STRIPES. I had so much fun making this EXPLODING CARD, hope you are inspired along the way.
I wanted to try something a little different this week, a card with movement and more detail so I opted for an exploding card.  My front cover showcases the fabulous Wendy Vecchi So Serious handsome gent stamp (who has a striped hat!) set against an inky backdrop created with Distress Stains wild honey and walnut stain. The sentiment from Wendy Vecchi's Steampunk Art was perfect for this gent along with a top hat to embellish.

Don't forget to join us this week and make something inspired by our STRIPES challenge. As every week, our great sponsor Simon Says Stamp gives a $50 gift voucher to one random participant.

To see the whole tutorial, head over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog.

Happy crafting!!

We would love to see where inspiration takes you this week.

Two banners have been added to a black backdrop stamped with text and coloured with brushed corduroy Distress Ink and flicked with water and all the edges have been distressed to add to the aged feel.
A doily has been added to the backgroound for added interest and texture and I have also included 'ROSE' added using Alpha Parts.
I have added a piece of lace and coordinated twine along with a rose charm embellishment.

Time for me to spend some time in the garden, clearing and tidying. Until the next time, enjoy the weekend. Tracy x x

A Fond Farewell

Unfortunately this is my last post for 100 PROOF PRESS, I have decided it is time to step down. I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to sara for inviting me along on what has been a wonderful creative journey. Sara gave me my very first DT position and for that I am truly grateful.

I have created a card for my last piece using the fabulous SPRING BOUQUET, which I thought was the perfect stamp to use for my last piece as one of my other passions is gardening.
I have used corrugated card for my backdrop to add texture and combined with black card for a real natural feel.
My background panel has been coloured with Distress Inks and flicked with water to add to that aged feel. I then stamped the Spring Bouquet with black Archival Ink, I love the detail of this stamp. To add further interest I machine stitched around the image.
I added some natural twine and a cameo to the top of my card and I also distressed the edges of all my layers again to add to the aged feel.
I also added a small tag, again stamped with the Spring Bouquet image, adding a fragment for dimension along with a mini cameo.
For further dimension and interest I also included some mini wooden hearts stamped with part of the Spring Bouquet image.

AMERICANA

Time for our monthly blog hop with Artistic Outpost and our theme this month is AMERICANA.
I used the COWGIRL STRENGTH plate to create my tag decorating the background with Distress Ink fired brick and salty ocean.
I also flicked water onto my inked background and added texture paste through some star sequin waste.
Bunting has been added to the top of the tag again from the COWGIRL STRENGTH plate, coloured with salty ocean Distress Ink. I also added the fabulous sentiment 'She Knows Her Own Strength'. Small wooden stars also add further dimension and interest.
I coloured the focal image with Distress Inks and also added natural twine and a rusty heart for added texture and dimension.
My fellow Design Team members have made some fabulous pieces to inspire you, please pop along and visit their blogs and be inspired along the way.

Artistic Outpost also has a fabulous REFERRAL THEME taking place for June and the theme is ANYTHING GOES using your AO images. There is also a fabulous prize on offer, upload your designs HERE.

Pop Up Birthday Card

From paper to paint, stickers to chipboard, Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge you to use Kraft in your creations this week. This would be a great challenge to break out the Ranger kraft tags, Tim's Chitchat stickers, recycle some corrugated card, recycle a brown paper bag. This challenge is wide open and up to you how you interprete our Krafty challenge.

I was inspired to create a 17th birthday pop up card for my son this week.
Teenage cards are always a challenge, especially trying to decide what imagery to use, however, the Birthday Cake Sketch stamp from Tim Holtz is perfect for either male or female cards. I used the Kraft Core Nostalgic Paper Stack to create the backdrop and to give a masculine feel when combined with black card. I used Wendy Vecchi's Stencils For Art Classic Words to add numbers to the background of my card using black Embossing Paste to add wonderful texture. Fingers crossed now that my son likes his birthday card!
I stamped the Birthday Cake Sketch directly onto the craft card using black archival ink and then coloured areas with a white pencil for contrast. I also added random machine stitching around the outside of the stamping along with faux stitching added with a white pencil. I then lightly spritzed with Dylusions white linen spray to add another layer of interest.
Numeric Alpha Parts have been used to add 17 and ONE and SEVEN to the top of the card, adding wonderful dimension to my piece. I added the completed front cover to an 8" x 8" card blank and matted onto a piece of black card and also added a birthday candle for added interest. I have also added a wishbone above the number 7, no birthday is complete without making a wish!
The inside of my card has been cut using Karen Burniston's Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts Label 3D die which has been matted onto a piece of black card cut using the base die. I have added machine stitchng to the inside to echo the front along with some faux stitching with a white pencil. I then lightly spritzed the inside with Dylusions white linen spray.
The Birthday Cake Sketch image has been stamped onto Kraft card, cut out and coloured with a white pencil and added to the pop up.  I cut a banner from Kraft card stamped the sentiment 'make a wish' from Tim Holtz Simple Sayings stamp set, adding a wishbone next to the sentiment for added dimension and interest.
The edge of the banner has been coloured with black soot Distress Ink for definition. From this picture you can just see the subtle spray of colour from the white linen spray.
A second banner has been added to the top of the card and once again stamped with 'make a wish'. I have also added 17 and WISH using the Signmaker Alpha Parts along with a mini Birthday Cake stamped onto shrink plastic.
Three banners have been added to the base of the pop up and numbers have been added to each banner using black soot Distress Ink and the Classic Words Stencils For Art stencil. I have also added dimensional numbers to the bottom using black Embossing Paste. I have highlighted the numbers 1, and 7 to represent my son's 17th birthday. I have added birthday three times to one side of the pop up from the Birthday Cake Sketch stamp. Again I have added another wishbone for added dimension.
To complete, I have added two mini cakes stamped onto shrink plastic and the sentiment 'just celebrate'.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Crafter's Companion - Marianne Design

Tomorrow Sunday 16th June at 12 noon on Create and Craft TV Leann Chivers from Crafter's Companion will be bringing you some fabulous products from Marianne Design.
Today I am showcasing a couple of samples I made for the shows. This first piece has a real vintage feel to it which I thought worked really well with the vintage images from Marianne. I used the Elegant Frame Embossalicious Embossing Folder to create a frame around my focal image and then sanded the card to reveal the core.
I used Tim Holtz Core'dinations Kraft Core Shattered collection, I love this card. I have used the Romantic Vintage - Best Wishes image from Marianne stamped onto Kraft card with black Archival Ink and I have added a touch of dimension on the sentiment and added a bow charm to her her.
The gorgeous lace is also from Marianne Deisgn, perfect for the vintage image. I have also added some natural twine and another of those fabulous charms for dimension.
The ornate die cut piece in the background is from Marianne Design, Vintage Ornaments and adds further interest to my card. To complete, I have added Best Wishes to the bottom of my card, adding two pearls to either side of the sentiment.
My next sample showcases the fabulous Romantic Vintage - Dreaming image stamped onto a piece of calico and machine stitched around the edges.
I used the Vintage 2 Ornaments to add die cut pieces to the top and bottom of my focal image and added two small roses for definition.
A large bow has been added along with CHERISH and a bow charm for added interest.
The background has been embossed with the Floral Vine Embossalicious Embossing Folder and once again sanded to reveal the core.
