Enjoy The Beauty of The Season

Welcome to my weekly post for Artistic Outpost and this week I am continuing with a second of my two cards a month for Christmas. I am determined to be more organised this year!

I used the same background as last week which I created on an A4 piece of card and then cut up to create the backgrounds for the cards to showcase the image from the Mid Winter stamp set.

Very difficult to catch the sparkle on the roof of the cabin but I have added Distress Glitter to the top for a touch of shimmer. The focal image has been added to die cut baubles.

Layers of stencilling and brayered layers of paint add to the interest of the background.

I used punches to add foliage to the top of the bauble along with a snowflake embellishment.

Christmas Robins

Morning and welcome, today I have my weekly post for Artistic Outpost, showcasing the fabulous Birds of A Feather stamp set.

I created a masterboard/mixed media background to showcase the fabulous Robins from the Birds of A Feather stamp set. I began by spritzing white card with water and then brayering the card lightly with Broken China Distress Paint. I then applied touches of Salty Ocean followed by Dusty Concord Distress Paint and then dried with a heat tool.

I added a few scratchy paint lines with an old credit card and then stamped the Robin onto the background. I created a mask of the Robin and then stamped him a second time. I stamped the Robins onto separate pieces of white card and then adhered to the base imagery to add dimension.

I die cut the Christmas Sentiment from card coloured with Dusty Concord Distress Ink and added 'Robin' from the Birds of A Feather stamp set, stamped onto a piece of the mixed media background I created. I also added die cut snowflakes for added interest and dimension, adding a metal pewter snowflake to the top.

Stencilled stars have been added to the background along with some delicate splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint.

Go Team Accordion

Welcome to my weekly post for Artistic Outpost.

Today I am showcasing the Go Team stamp set. I opted for cool greys this week, painting the background with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Medium Grey Value 6 and Dark Grey Value 3, blending the colours with a baby wipe and then drying with a heat tool. I added a touch of shading to the edges of the card with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

This is the reverse of the accordion, once again painted with the DecoArt Fluid Arylics.

I love the Black stamping against the grey backdrop with the touches of white.

With this panel I masked of the image and stamped three times, adding a painty circle around the imagery adding a touch of white Gelato to the circle for added shading and highlights. I also added a few delicate splatters of DecoArt Titanium White Fluid Acrylic.

Touches of paint have been added to incorporate scratchy lines in Titanium White and Carbon Black Fluid Acrylics.

Once again I have spotlighted the focal imagery using a painted circle using the lid from one of my products and Titanium White Fluid Acrylic; adding shading with a white Gelato.

Re-releases From Eileen Hull

Happy New Year and welcome to our monthly post for Eileen Hull's Art With Heart Challenge. This month the design team are focusing on Eileen Hull's re-releases for 2016; these are some fantastic dies that have been so missed that they have now been re-released. We don't have a challenge this month but if you would like to link any of your projects using Eileen's dies the link is HERE. There is also a prize on offer for one randomly drawn winner. There are also 6 new 3D flowers and leaves being released, one of which I showcase below along with a new Twist and Style Tool that can be used in so many ways including flower stems and home decor pieces (more information to follow on that very soon).

This week I am showcasing the fabulous Suitcase die; I love this die and it's so perfect for housing a special gift or even an accordion card or book.

I die cut the suitcase from mountboard and then placed the Tim Holtz Rays stencil onto the die cut piece and then blended Hickory Smoke and Fossilized Amber over the stencil, beginning with the lightest colour first. I then also lightly spritzed the background with Hickory Smoke Distress Spray Stain.

The flower is also another new release from Eileen Hill again coloured with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink, spritzing lightly with Hickory Smoke Distress Spray Stain. As I have used sunny colours for this piece I was thinking about holidays etc hence the ChitChat Sticker which I thought was the perfect sentiment. I also added some natural twigs behind the flower along with some Vintage Seam Binding died with Distress Ink. To complete, I coloured the edges of the suitcase with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

I Do Believe.....

Time for my weekly post for Artistic Outpost and this week I am showcasing the fabulous Snowy Woods Stamp Set.

I created a mixed media backdrop for my focal image using Distress Paints.

I brayered Distress Paint over my background and then die cut two layers of baubles, one of which has been stamped with the fabulous Father Christmas image from Artistic Outpost. One bauble has been die cut from Metallic Kraft-Core cardstock and the smaller bauble has been die cut from my mixed media masterboard I created for the background of the card.

I also added delicate splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint to add to the snowy feel along with some snow using a DecoArt Snow Writer. The vintage seam binding has been coloured with Dusty Concord Distress Ink to coordinate with the background.

I added a die cut sentiment 'believe' to complete my design.

Whatever....................

Hope you are all enjoying the festive period. I created this next piece just for fun!

I had some Lyra pencils for Christmas and thought I would try them out, they are wonderful to use.

The image is from stampotique.

The background has been created with Dylusions paints.

I love this sentiment which I stamped on a scrap of paper.

I added splatters of red paint to lift the background a little.

I hope you all get a little time in this busy period to do something just for fun!

Happy Christmas

Before I begin with my weekly post for Artistic Outpost, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and all the best for the coming year. Enjoy the festivities and thank you all for your support during 2015.

This week I am showcasing the fabulous Toy Emporium stamp set housed inside a shadow box. I began by die cutting the Postage Stamp Frame from white card, incorporating the sized rectangles within the frame to get the aperture. I then aged the frame with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and added splatters of Fired Brick Distress Paint.

I created a box to go at the back of my frame which I cut from white card and then adhered to the back of the frame, again colouring the box with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adding splatters of water to add bleached out areas.

I stamped the centre of the shadow box with imagery from the Toy Emporium stamp set; stamping the images with Black Archival Ink and adding a layer of DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze to age further; allowing to dry completely and then rubbing over the cracks with Raw Umber Antiquing Cream. The imagery has been coloured with touches of red using Polychromo Pencils.

I added Hitch Fasteners to the outside edge of the frame and added rusty wire for further texture. I also included a few Christmas berries for added interest.

I die cut three postage stamp labels using Tim Holtz Thinlits Die and added touches of stamping to each label, again colouring with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
