Go Team Accordion

Welcome to my weekly post for Artistic Outpost.

Today I am showcasing the Go Team stamp set. I opted for cool greys this week, painting the background with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Medium Grey Value 6 and Dark Grey Value 3, blending the colours with a baby wipe and then drying with a heat tool. I added a touch of shading to the edges of the card with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

This is the reverse of the accordion, once again painted with the DecoArt Fluid Arylics.

I love the Black stamping against the grey backdrop with the touches of white.

With this panel I masked of the image and stamped three times, adding a painty circle around the imagery adding a touch of white Gelato to the circle for added shading and highlights. I also added a few delicate splatters of DecoArt Titanium White Fluid Acrylic.

Touches of paint have been added to incorporate scratchy lines in Titanium White and Carbon Black Fluid Acrylics.

Once again I have spotlighted the focal imagery using a painted circle using the lid from one of my products and Titanium White Fluid Acrylic; adding shading with a white Gelato.

Touchdown!

Welcome to my weekly post for Artistic Outpost. I have been working with the fabulous Go Team stamp set once again.

I used Wendy Vecchi's Frames and Masks to mask off the central circular area on my card which I then coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink; applying Ground Espresso to the edges and I then flicked the ink with water, allowed the ink to sit for a few seconds and then dabbed dry with a piece of kitchen towel and dried completely with a heat tool. With the aperture/mask still in place I then stamped the focal imagery with Black Archival Ink and dried with a heat tool.

I stamped the young boy onto a piece of scrap paper, cut it out to create a mask, placed the mask onto the stamped boy and then stamped the background imagery.

To add further interest and texture I painted the circular area with DecoArt Crackle Glaze and once completely dry I rubbed over the cracks with DecoArt Raw Umber Antiquing Cream, wiping away any excess with a baby wipe.

I scribbled Black Gelato around the circle and then blended with my finger to add a shadow. I also lightly coloured around the circular area with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, applying only light pressure so that the colour did not appear to dark and once again flicked water onto the background. I also added "TOUCHDOWN" to the bottom of the card and also included some painted scratchy lines.

To complete my piece I added a few delicate splatters of Carbon Black Fluid Acrylic to the background and dried with my heat tool.

"Go Team"

Today I am showcasing one of the new releases from Artistic Outpost, the Go Team stamp set. The Artistic Outpost Design Team are all creating with the new release this week and we have a fun Blog Hop to inspire you.

I began by painting my background with London Bus Fresco Finish Paint and drying with my heat tool. I then applied Fresco Finish Crackle Glaze and again dried with my heat tool until I had a matt finish and I then applied a final coat of Little Black Dress and the cracks appear almost immediately. Whilst the paint was still wet I rubbed away some of the areas with a piece of kitchen towel to age my piece a little.

Once my layers of paint were completely dry I then applied a random coat of Gesso to the centre of the card and dried with my heat tool.

I stamped the young boy with Black Archival Ink onto the Gesso area and then dried with my heat tool. I then stamped the same image onto a piece of scrap paper, cut it out to create a mask and placed the mask onto the focal image and then stamped the background image, once again with Black Archival Ink and dried with my heat tool. I added touches of red to the boy using my Polychromo pencils. I added "Go Team" to a twig which I painted lightly with paint and then adhered to the card.

To add further interest I added scratchy lines using an old credit card and London Bus Fresco Finish Paint along with a few splatters of paint.

New Release from Artistic Outpost

We have some fabulous new releases this week from Artistic Outpost. All the details can also be seen on the Artistic Outpost Blog.

My first piece is created using the fabulous Vintage Fashion stamp set, a trio of pieces with a real vintage feel to them; each one coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I created two small suitcases using Eileen Hull's Suitcase die which I coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink; applying the ink to a non-stick craft sheet and then picking up the ink with the die cut and then drying with a heat tool. I then dipped the die cut into any remaining ink and dried once again. Vintage Photo Distress Ink was then applied to the edges to darken and add definition.

The bodice was then stamped onto each of the Suitcases using Black Archival Ink and I also added background stamping using the text stamp from the Vintage Fashion stamp set using Ground Espresso Distress Ink.

I created an accordion which fits inside the Suitcase, again coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I stamped the focal images with Black Archival Ink and then overstamped with the background stamp using Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I also included some random machine stitching for added interest.

Circles have also been included using the top from one of my paints; applying paint to the lid and then stamping with the lid. Each circle was then painted with Titanium White DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic and dried with a heat tool. I then applied colour to each of the circles using my Gelatos, blending with my finger. Stamping has also been added inside each circle.

I love using stamps, inks and paints to add several layers of interst to my pieces and the machine stitching adds a touch of texture.

The second of the new releases is "Go Team"

I continued with the vintage theme again using Vintage Photo Distress Ink but this time I applied the Distress Ink to a piece of acetate, spritzed lightly with water and then dabbed the acetate onto my card. Using the Distress Inks this way means I can apply the Ink exactly where I want it and still achieve that watercolour effect. I then dried the ink with a heat tool.

I stamped the focal image with Black Archival Ink and then applied Raw Sienna DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic to a paint lid and stamped the lid over the focal image. I then added shading to the circle using a Gelato.

I added 'TOUCHDOWN' to the bottom of my card and also included some scratchy lines with an old credit card using Raw Sienna Fluid Acrylic and added delicate paint splatters using Carbon Black Fluid Acrylic.

The third and final release for this quarter is "Toy Emporium" and I will be showcasing this stamp set over the coming weeks so stay tuned!
