Eileen Hull Book Club 2 Release

Hi and welcome, today I have a post as part of the Eileen Hull DT and this month we are showcasing the fantastic Book Club 2 release.

Today I am showcasing the fabulous Wrap Around Journal Die. You can view the whole Book Club 2 Collection HERE.  The Wrap Around Journal Die is a Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die which means you can cut almost any material with this die, it's fantastic and so versatile. Those of you in the UK can pre order this die from Country View Crafts HERE. I also used the Journaling Words across the front of my Journal to add a further layer of interest.

Eileen sent me this fabric/leather esque type piece and to begin with I highlighted all the embossed design with Wax which worked perfectly to showcase the texture.

I also incorporated Eileen's Stitchy Flower & Leaf using both the flowers and leaf. I coloured the flower and leaf with Distress Inks and then added some wax around the edges of each. I also incorporated some of the hearts from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Journaling Cards, Hearts.

I machine stitched the covers and also added some vintage book pages to the inside cover and also added some watercolour pages which I tea stained.

I also added a shaker to the front of my journal for an added dimensional piece, adding some of the die cut hearts to the centre along with some sequins.

May Flowers with Eileen Hull Dies

Hi everyone and welcome to my post as part of the Eileen Hull Design Team. This month we are showcasing May Flowers using Eileen's dies.

For this project I used one of my all time favourite dies of Eileen's, the Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die - Book, Passport, it is such a fantastic, versatile die that can cut so many materials. I have some step by steps for you below:

Die cut the Passport pieces from mountboard. We have a front and back cover and the spine.

Crumple a piece of white tissue paper to create creases and then adhere to each of the die cut pieces. I used Distress Collage Medium to adhere mine.

At this stage I was thinking about texture and decided that I now wanted to emboss my pieces and was still hoping that some of the creases in the tissue would still be visible after embossing. I was delighted that some still remained even after the embossing process. I used Eileen's Daisy Wreath Embossing Folder, which I thought fitted perfectly for the May Flowers Challenge.

I then painted all my pieces with black acrylic paint, making sure to cover all the white areas.

I then dry brushed with DecoArt Media Metallic Silver Paint which really highlights the texture beautifully.

From this picture you can see that some of the creases I created with the tissue paper are still visible, which I love.

Now time to add some flowers to my design. I opted for Eileen's Stitchy Flowers and Leaf Thinlits Die, again another fantastically versatile die. I die cut several pieces to create dimensional flowers.

I spritzed the die cut flowers with a light misting of water.

I then scrunched each of the die cut flowers to add texture to each die cut piece and I then layered three large flowers and two small flowers together.

I added a brad to the centre of my flowers to add another detail element to my design.

I also added some small beads to the centre, again adding further texture and added some highlights of silver acrylic paint to the petals.

I assembled the book and I am absolutely delighted with the finish, the texture and dimension is something I love.

I added the butterfly to the centre, my stamp from AALLandCreate which you can find HERE.

I added some touches of texture to my butterfly, adding small pieces of cheesecloth to the wings. I also included beads and a Story Stick from Tim Holtz. My butterfly sits on one of Tim Holtz frames.

I love the texture on the spine of my book and I also included a few more small beads for added interest.

I added one of Tim Holtz Mini Hardware Pulls for added dimension which sits perfectly against my dimensional flowrs.

I added black pages to my book and also included another one of my stamped butterflies, coloured with metallic markers.

I added black pages which enables the recipient to add white doodling or metallic sketches etc to the pages.

Organising With Eileen Hull Dies

Hi and welcome, today I have a post showcasing Eileen Hull's dies and their endless possibilities for storage ideas.

I have used Eileen's Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Card Box, Planner Storage and Organiser Die for today's project. This die is absolutely fantastic for storage and you can adhere more than one together to create storage for your craft items and when made they are incredibly strong. I have use Eileen's House Pocket Thinlits Die to create a coordinating card to go inside, making a perfect gift idea for a fellow crafter.

I die cut the ScoreBoards XL die from mountboard and then applied Dina Wakley's Cheddar Acrylic paint inside and out, applying the paint with a piece of Cut 'n' Dry Foam and I then dried the paint with a heat tool.

I die cut the front section once again and then die cut flowers from the cut out piece using Eileen's Stitchy Flowers and Leaf Thinlits Die.

I then lightly brayered Dina Wakley's Turquoise Acrylic Paint over the top of the die cut piece. I love how the paint highlights the embossed areas outside the flowers from my die cutting process.

I then added very light touches of Fuchsia Acrylic Paint.

I added light touches of Turquoise Acrylic Paint to my storage piece and then adhered the tabs together to create my Card Storage Box.

I adhered my die cut top layer to the Storage Box and added flowers into the die cut flower apertures. This die also comes with the label to add to the side of the Storage Box, however, on this occassion I added mine to the front for added decoration. I stamped butterflies onto painted card using my stamps from AALLand Create, which you can find HERE.

I die cut a coordinating card from white card using Eileen's House Pocket Die and again coloured with the same paints. I added stamped images using my stamps from AALLandCreate.

These are my stamps that I used combined with Eileen's dies.

I added two butterflies to the top and machine stitched through the centre of the butterflies. I left the cotton threads to add more texture to my design.

I added a few delicate splatters of White Acrylic Paint to add a further layer of interest.

The House Pocket die cut fits perfectly into my Storage Box.

Eileen Hull Book Club

Hi and welcome to my second post of the month for Eileen Hull, showcasing our love for Eileen's dies.

Today I am showcasing one of my favourites the Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die - Book and Pages, Trinket Box and Frame. This die is so versatile, you can use the frame on its own like I have showcased HERE, create a book from it, a trinket box or a shadow box. The possibilities are endless.

Today I have used the whole piece for my project to create a book. I have step by steps for you so quite a long post today but I hope you enjoy taking the steps along with me.

Cover a piece of mountboard with Tim Holtz Metal Foil Tape, don't worry if you have a few creases as these will not show with the next steps. Die cut the mountboard using Eileen's Die. This is the cover of our shaker element.

Place the die cut piece into Eileen's Daisy Wreath Embossing Folder and run through your die cutting machine to emboss.

This gives a lovely deep emboss. However the silver of the foil was a little to stark for me so I aged it a little.

I applied Distress Paint Ground Espresso over the foil, applying with my finger.

I then dried the paint a little with my heat tool and then used a dry baby wipe to wipe away the excess paint.

I love how the paint settles into all the crevices.

These are our die cut pieces all together to show the difference with the ageing compared to the non treated foil.

I die cut several layers of the front cover to create my shaker and added Tim Holtz Paperdolls inside along with confetti. I held the shaker element in place with clips to ensure good contact with the glue.

I painted a piece of white card with Distress Paint and then die cut flowers from the painted card using Eileen's Stitchy Flowers and Leaf Die.  I cut several at this stage for a later project and for this project.

I added touches of metallic paint to the edges of my flowers to coordinate with the metal foil tape in the background.

I layered my flower to give a dimensional bloom and then added a bead to the centre which once dry I coloured with a little silver metallic paint.

Once I had finished I added watercolour pages to the inside of my book which can be decorated with many mediums.

I added my flower to the front of my book and added a length of elastic to secure the book closed.

I added a Quote Chip, painting around the edges with paint to coordinate with my flower.

I love the depth of the embossing.

The shaker element adds wonderful movement to my design.
