The Altered Alice Chapter 20, Week 1 - Twinkle Like A Bat, Shine Like A Tea Tray!

Time for our monthly challenge over at The Altered Alice. Just like the Mad Hatter's song, we want you to create something that twinkles or shines; bats are optional! Think bling, metal, glitter, mirror card; the possibilites are endless! Some of the design team will be using some very unusual Alice-inspired designs. Just like you dress up for Halloween and take on another persona, these racy images have Alice and other characters all grown up and taking a walk on the wild side!
...it was at the great concert given by the Queen of Hearts, and I had to sing
"Twinkle, twinkle, little bat!
How I wonder what you're at!"
You know the song, perhaps?'
`I've heard something like it,' said Alice.
`It goes on, you know,' the Hatter continued, `in this way:--
"Up above the world you fly,
Like a tea-tray in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle--"'
-- Chapter 7, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

I decided to use the Alice image from the The Octopode Factory as I thought she was perfect for a Halloween makeover. The background is paper from Graphic 45 Halloween In Wonderland which I coloured with a little rusty hinge distress ink, adding black soot to the edges.
No charachter in Wonderland is complete without a hat during the month of October which I cut from mountboard and overed with more paper from the Graphic 45 pad. I also added an 'A' for Alice of course, again coloured with Distress Inks. I added gold Paint Dabber to the edges of the hat and included BOO and a flying bat.
It was the perfect opportunity to use the text Twinkle, Twinkle, little bat from Stampotique which I added to a banner along with OH Alice to a second banner both coloured with Distress Inks.  I also added a skull and bat to add to that Halloween feel.
I stamped the skull stems again from The Octopode Factory adding dimension to a couple along with gems to their eyes which also sparkle and shine and add further interest to my creation. I die cut 31 from black card and added to the centre of my card.
Alice has been coloured with Distress Markers and she too has a bit of bling and shine in the form of a jewel added to her neckline.

Our sponsor this month is Smeared Ink, home of edgy, wild and fun designs in rubber and digital forms. They have released a Wonderland Collection; images are available individually or as a set. The randomly-chosen winner of this month's challenge will receive a $15 shopping spree in their online store.

Enter your project by Friday, October 25 for a chance at the shopping spree. As always, multiple entries are encouraged (after all, this is a monthly challenge) but each entry must be on a separate post. All projects that meet the challenge criteria are welcome, but entries that feature Wonderland will have two chances with each project entered instead of one.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x
