Katzelkraft Challenge - Coloured Winter

Morning all, Happy New Year! Today it is time for my weekly DT creation for Katzelkraft. The challenge for January is Coloured Winter.

There are many things I think of when I think of Winter and as we have only just left another Christmas behind us I am still thinking along the lines of decorations and baubles so my take on the challenge are coloured Winter baubles. The background of my card has been stencilled with Tim Holtz Stars Layering stencil using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

I wanted to make the central bauble stand out from the crowd so I added a cicular piece decorated with stamped Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. I cut a circle from mountboard using Tim Holtz Sized Circles die and then added black UTEE and Tropic Red Embossing Crystals to my melt pot and once melted I poured onto the circular piece and then pressed the Geometric Ornament stamp onto the hot enamel, allowed to cool a little and then removed the stamp.  Once it had cooled a little I also cut around the shape with a pair of scissors to remove any excess UTEE from the edges. To highlight the wonderful design I applied White Fire wax to the top.

I died vintage seam binding with Fired Brick Distress Ink and added a bow to the top of each of the baubles along with a Christmas button to the centre of each for added interest.

Frosty Christmas for Katzelkraft

Morning everyone and welcome. Today I have my weekly post for Katzelkraft using the fabulous Geometric Ornament.

I have opted for some frosty blues and whites today beginning with the background I applied Broken China Distress Ink over the Stars Layering stencil and added shading to the edges. I then added a second layer with subtle background stamping using Tim Holtz text background stamp from the Classics 9 stamp set.

I then took a further piece of white card, mixed Salty Ocean reinker to Wendy Vecchi's Crackled Texture Paste and applied over the Stars Layering Stencil, I love the texture this gives to the background. Shading has also been added to the edges of the card with Broken China Distress Ink.

I inked the Geometric Ornament with Forget-Me-Not and touches of Potting Soil Archival Inks and stamped onto white card, I repeated this for a second stamping and then cut both baubles out and added to the background of the card. Natural twine has been added to the top of each bauble along with pewter charms coloured with Alcohol Inks.

I applied Broken China ink over the CHRISTMAS wording on the Christmas Layering stencil, cut out the wording and then added to the bottom of the card.

 I love the subtle crackle on the background stars, this adds a wonderful tactile feel to the card.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Hope you are all enjoying the build up to the festivities. I am definitely enjoying December this year. Today I have a Christmas card for you using the Geometric Ornament from Katzelkraft.

I began by adding stencilling to a piece of white card using Tim Holtz Christmas Layering Stencil and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, applying the same ink to the edges for definition. I then added a second layer to my card stencilled with the Holiday Knit stencil and Fired Brick Distress Ink.

I then inked the Geometric Ornament with Vermillion and touches of Potting Soil Archival Ink and stamped onto the bottom corner of the card. I love how the stencilled lettering is still visible behind the ornament.

I die cut a star from white card, coloured with Fired Brick Distress Ink, added a Chitchat sticker to the top and added to the top corner of my card. I also die cut a mini tag from white card, stamped Winter and 25 onto the tag and fastened to my twine bow and included a Christmas button to the centre for added interest. I then added the design to a white card adding stencilled stars to the background.

Geometric Ornament

This weeks post for Katzelkraft uses the Geometric Ornament, I love the detail on this stamp.

The background has been decorated with stencilled stars using Tim Holtz star layering stencil and Peeled Paint Distress Ink and I have also included Christmas wording using the Christmas layering stencil and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, I love these two colours together.

I then inked the Geometric Ornament with Fern Green and Potting Soil Archival Inks and stamped onto the bottom corner of the card.  A Christmas Remnant Rub has been added to the opposite corner,

I die cut a couple of tiny tabs and tag, coloured with Distress Inks and added Remnant Rubs and stamping to each along with shading using Distress Inks.
