Vintage Canvas

Morning everyone, hope you are enjoying your Christmas festivities. Today I am showcasing a mixed media canvas using my newly released A6 Stamp "Style It" #245, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I loved creating this canvas, just losing myself in creating lots of layers for a real tactile piece.
I began by applying lots of layers of vintage book pages and then colouring those pages with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I then added a layer of crackle paste for further texture and interest.
An embroidery hoop seemed the perfect partner with the focal imagery, once again I coloured the hoop with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and added touches of Gold Wax for a metallic touch.
I incorporated some threads and soft metal wire for a further textural element. I also added dimension to my bodice.
A small twig heart and some coordinated stones finish the design.
I added a touch of colour to the crackle paste, applying Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the surface. I pressed my Ink onto a non-stick craft sheet, spritzed with water and then used a water brush to add a wash over the texture.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

What a glorious canvas, Tracy - the vintage neutrals are right up my street, and all your amazing crackle and torn paper detailing give so much dimension and texture. A stunner! I'm sorry I've been such an intermittent visitor this last year... time has seemed to fly away with me. I'm always hoping to do better - and given I'm moving to another country, the first half of this coming year isn't likely to be when that happens... but maybe after that!!

I'm still in Christmas hibernation (don't come out fully until after 12th Night on 6th January!), but am trying to do a bit of catching up with people even so. Happy New Year!

Beautiful colourway & a magnificent crackle to the background. The vintage style works hand in hand with the embroidery hoop and your mannequin stamps. A wonderful canvas that would suit any wall.
Wishing you and the family a magical New Year Tracy, may 2020 be as successful as the last. I'm so looking forward to seeing your inspiring designs and creations. Creative Hugs Tracey xx
