Summer Is Here......

......In my craft room anyway, using the fabulous new Summer Distress colours.

It's Monday and time for our weekly dose of Simon Says Stamp and Show and this week we would love to see how you are inspired by the new Summer Distress colours or even your own Summer palette of Distress colours, you choose.

Inspiration always strikes when I have a reorganisation in my craft room in the form of found/forgotten pieces, this miniature frame being a perfect example, small in stature but BIG on impact.
I enjoyed working outside my comfort zone of earthy tones, creating my miniature piece with the fabulous new Summer Seasonal Distress Ink colours. The hardest part of this project was working on such a small scale and knowing when to stop.  The fractured doll is my focal point and has been given an angelic makeover with the addition of wings from the Regal Adornments.
I began by adding a dropper full of salty ocean reinker to a mini mister and then giving my frame a good spray of ink, once dry I blended a little more ink from the inkpad. I cut a panel to fit the centre aperture and embossed with the stencil Texture Fade and coloured with the Summer Distress colours; applying the colours to my non-stick craft sheet and mopping up the colour with my card, adding silver highlights with a paint dabber. For further interest I stamped the numbers onto my frame using the Kaiser numbers texture stamp and snow cap paint dabber. I have cut a heart from thick white card using the mini heart die, adding texture with a little Gesso and colouring with the Summer colours. For added dimension I have included a Studio Calico butterfly wood veneer which I have coloured with salty ocean and picked raspberry inks.
I have added a word band to the top of my frame which I have coloured with a little snow cap paint dabber, swiping the dabber across the band and removing the excess ink, leaving the colour in the recessed areas. The fractured doll has been given a crown, adding a Chitchat sticker to the top.
I have added a second heart to the bottom of my frame, texture added with Gesso and coloured as before, adding wings cut from white card using the heart wings die. Believe and inspire have been added from the Chitchat stickers, applying salty ocean ink to the edges.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated.  Enjoy your week. Tracy x x

Beautiful treatment for Charlotte... her heart is like a coat of armor, and I love the way you mimic'd it with the winged one below.
