Bling For Simon Says....

It's Monday morning and that can only mean one thing, it's time for my FIRST official DT piece for Simon Says Stamp and Show.  This week we are asking you to show some BLING.
I decided to pull out all the stops for my first DT piece recycling a wired dress form that was damaged, giving me the idea of a MAKE DO AND MEND piece which has been covered in torn paper from an old book and coloured using Broken China Distress StainGrunge Blocks have been added to give dimension to the lettering and lots of Claudine Hellmuth Matte Multi-Medium.  Most of my metal finds for this piece have been coloured with Silver Adirondack Paint Dabber which adds great texture to the wings and metal embellishments.  I have added plenty of BLING with one extra special piece around the bodice's neck, a large amber coloured piece of jewellery.  A girl can never have too much BLING!
I have added a flower to the head to represent a decorative hair piece, cut using the Tattered Florals die using approximately 8 layers to give great dimension to the flower.  I have added more BLING to the centre of my flower using one of Tim's Accoutrements.
I have also made a couple of holes in the bodice using Tim's Drill Punch enabling me to dangle a couple of pairs of brass scissors from the bottom of the dress form.
There is lots more inspiration for you from the SSSS talented DT on the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog. Cannot wait to see your inspirational creations this week and there is even a $50 prize and the Top Three award to win.

Thanks as always for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment.  Enjoy your week.  Tracy x x

Loving your first DT piece. I also got hold of some dress forms and have had fun redressing her. I have 2 left in my stash. How tall is your lady?

Belinda Basson said...

Hi Tracy, thanks for coming back to me on the size of your dress form, she looks much bigger than 1ft (is that 12 inches? - we work in centimeters here) Mine is 9 inches, so not much difference in hight really.
