Creative Expressions Sheer Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome all to the Creative Expressions Sheer Inspiration Blog Hop. This is the first blog hop for Creative Expressions and we are thrilled you are joining us to celebrate our first hop.

To celebrate, Creative Expressions are offering a prize of £15 on each blog. To enter the giveaways, simply leave a comment on each of the 8 DT members blogs (listed below). The hop will close and prize winners from each blog announced on Monday 8th April on the Creative Expressions NEWS blog.  There is also a fabulous separate SPOT PRIZE on Kim Dellow's blog on her post which goes live on Friday 5th April.

If you have arrived here from the Creative Expressions NEWS blog you are in the right place.

The Design Team are creating pieces of art combining fabulous RIBBON from Creative Expressions, our aim being to use ribbon in creative, unique ways.
I decorated a canvas board, creating a wonderful dimensional bloom from ribbon and using ribbon in the background of my canvas for added texture. I have also included step by steps to create my canvas.
Colour a piece of white card with mowed lawn and salty ocean Distress Inks. Press each inkpad onto a non-stick craft sheet, spritz with water and then mop up the beads of ink with card stock, heat setting between each application.
Adhere pieces of CROCHET RIBBON onto the coloured card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA, continue until the whole piece is covered with ribbon.
Once the card is completely covered and totally dry, run through a die cutting machine with the Tattered Florals die.
This is what I have left after die cutting, perfect for another project, which I will use at a later date.
Cover the canvas board with old book pages using Claudine Hellmuth multi medium matt or Cosmic Shimmer PVA.
Adhere small pieces of the CROCHET RIBBON randomly to the canvas.
Paint over the canvas with a coat of Gesso.
Once completely covered set the canvas aside to dry completely.
I used the Flower and Butterfly mask, applied Wendy Vecchi's white embossing paste through the mask, this adds fantastic texture to any piece of art.
Once the paste is completely dry, paint the canvas with mowed lawn and salty ocean Distress Paints.
Look at the fabulous texture the crochet ribbon adds along with the texture paste. This canvas is so tactile.
I added some metal letters to add BLOOM along with four wooden hearts for further interest.
For a little contrast I also added some random stamping with black Archival Ink.  I also added a brass bird cage charm.
I have also now added the fabulous dimensional bloom I created from the CROCHET RIBBON earlier. To finishe I added Gilding Wax over my canvas to highlight all the texture and raised areas.
I also added a wooden bird, again painted with Distress Paints and a touch of random stamping added to the body and touches of Gilding Wax added around the edges of the bird.

Should you get lost along the way I have included a complete list for the hop:

  1. Tracy Evans (You Are Here)
  2. Trish Latimer
  3. Jean Gursoy
  4. Trace Metcalfe
  5. Gillian Simson
  6. Tracey Laughton
  7. Shary Nettleship
  8. Michelle Webb
  9. Kim Dellow (Friday 5th April) - Special Surprise on offer Friday only
Don't forget to check DT member Kim Dellow's blog on Friday for a SPECIAL SURPRISE!

Your next stop on the blog hop is TRISH LATIMER.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x
