DREAM

We have a simple challenge this week from Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, ANYTHING GOES!
I was inspired by my fellow team member Andrea to use the Prima Flowers Lorrena stamp.
I often begin my projects by simply laying out my pieces onto the canvas whilst I am working out ideas.
I stamped the Prima Doll onto a piece of Calico fabric using Black Archival Ink and then cut out.
I clothed the doll with Tim Holtz Fabric which I cut into strips and then fixed into place with a glue stick and then machined stitched the pieces together.
I added a black bodice using black card and then coated with Mutli Medium Matt to protect the card. I also added a tiny clock part from Prima to her neckline.

I added a touch of stencilling using the Prima Flowers Lace Trim Stencil and White Embossing Paste.
I added a Tim Holtz Ornate Plate, Prima Flowers Bottle Cap, Prima Flowers Flower Shapes, Prima Flowers Jeans Buttons, a Zip Pull, Martha Stewart Medallion, Hanger Clip and Locket Key. I coated all the embellishments with a coat of Gesso and once dry I painted with Weathered Wood Distress Paint.
I added further embellishments to the bottom of her dress which I painted with Distress Paints and highlighted the detail with Treasure Silver Wax. I also kept all the threads in place from the machine stitching to add extra texture and interest. I added DREAM to a Memo Pin stamped onto white card using the Simple Sayings Stamp Set and coloured with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.
I dry brushed the canvas with Walnut Stain Distress Paint to coordinate with the browns in the fabric used on the skirt. I added a piece of Ball Chain to her waistline.
Touches of Black Soot Distress Paint have also been added as a contrast.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and take a look at my fellow team members artwork, they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Time To Celebrate

Time for this weeks Katzelkraft Design Team piece and this week I am showcasing the fabulous HOLOGE plate, again another fabulous detailed image.
The backdrop of my card has been created using Wendy Vecchi's Archival Reinker techinique combined with Rubbing Alcohol. I punched out the edges of my design to add further interest and stamped the focal imaged directly onto the backdrop with Aquamarine Archival Ink.
I cut out two banners and then stamped the image once again onto one banner with Aquamarine Archival Ink and onto the second banner with Black Archival Ink and I then layered the pieces on top of the first stamped image to give dimension to my design.  I also included a clock face embellishment, coloured with Silver Treasure Wax. Time 2 Celebrate has been added using label letters.
I have punched out three small squares from the leftovers of the coloured card and then stamped with parts of the main focal image.

Wonder and Think

This week I am using the more masculine image from the Think and Wonder plate for my weekly DT piece for Artistic Outpost.
The backdrop has been coloured with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and flicked with water to give an aged worn feel along with distressed and torn edges.
I have stamped the focal image onto white card with Black Archival Ink and then coloured with Weathered Wood and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks, again distressing the edges for that worn feel. I have also added a watch face, coloured with ginger Alcohol Ink. I have matted the focal image onto a further piece of card coloured with Distress Inks and stamped with the background stamp from the Paperboy plate.A tag has also been nestled behind the layers coloured with Weathered Wood Distress Ink and stamped with the same background stamp.
I added the sentiment 'Wonder and think' to the top of the card along with a 'V' embellishment to echo the 'V' in the VAN HOUTEN'S in the focal image.
To complete I also added alphabet ribbon and a brass key for added interest and dimension.

CREATE ART

This week DT member Anna-Karin chalenges us to be transparent. Will you use vellum? perhaps share all the details of your project leaving no secrets unseen: Add a layer of frost film or use mediums that are not opaque? However you choose to interpret our challenge Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge would love to see the results.
I decided to decorate a canvas which I brayered with Mocha Mousse and touches of Beach Hut Fresco Finish Paint. I love to brayer the colour which leaves some of the white areas of the canvas exposed. I then cut the branch using the Garden Greens Die, cut from brown card.
My transparent element is the dimensional bloom I have created from Clear Clearly For Art, cut using the Tattered Floral Die. I added a touch of colour to the edge of the petals using Aquamarine Reinker. I also added a small wooden bird, painted with Beach Hut paint. For further interest I also included some Remnant Rubs Words.
CREATE ART has been added to the canvas using Alpha Parts, painted with Fresco Finish Paint adding touches of Olive Bronze Treasure Gold Wax to each letter.
Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms have been added for further interest and dimension, cut from teal card, adding Olive Bronze wax to the edges of the petals. The key was a kind gift from a blogging friend Tony (thanks Tony) which fitted perfectly nestled below the flowers along with a further wooden bird.  I also added metal corners to my canvas (another kind gift from Tony).
I added touches of Olive Bronze Treasure Gold Wax to the edges of my canvas, to the branch and wooden embellishments.
I have also included a Media Mixage Bird Metal Blank and House Blank which I have used as a birdhouse nestled within the branch and Bitty Blossoms which I coloured with Vintaj Patina's Marine and Aged Bronze.

SO SPECIAL

I am absolutely thrilled to have been invited to join the Katzelkraft Design Team. Katzelkraft is a fabulous French company who have some wonderful stamp images. I hope you will join me in this new venture.
For my first creation I have used the fabulous quirky SO SPECIAL plate, I love this image. The background has been created using Weathered  Wood Distress Ink and then flicked with water. I have also used the background stamps from this plate to add further subtle stamping to the background.
I have added circles using an old lid and white acrylic paint along with a few scratch lines using the edge of an old credit card. The focal image has been stamped with Watering Can Archival Ink.
I have also added pieces of die cut Lattice to add further interest.
For a touch of dimension I have also incuded a monocle adding the face of the focal image behind. I have also repeat stamped the So Special sentiment and added to the edge of my design.
I hope you have enjoyed my first design. There is some fabulous artwork from my fellow team members on the Katzelkraft Blog, why not pop over and take a look. Katzelkraft also deliver to the UK and you can find their shop HERE.

Dare To Dream

Time for my weekly post for Artistic Outpost and this week I am showcasing the Generation Redux plate.
The backdrop of my card has been created by spritzing soapy bubbles with Dylusions Sprays and then pressing the card into the sprayed bubbles.
The focal image has been stamped in the bottom corner with Potting Soil Archival Ink and then repeated in a spotlight circle.
I have added ribbon and a decorative embellishment and key for added interest and dimension. I have secured the ribbon using a Tiny Attacher.
I have added a decorative button and brass piece which I received from my fellow team member Linda to add a touch more dimension to my design.
I have added the sentiment 'dare to dream' to the bottom of my card and added background stamping using the numbers from the plate stamped with Aquamarine Archival Ink.

Good Luck

Are you down on your luck? Perhaps you found your lucky rainbow and pot of gold? Do you feel like today is, quite simply, your lucky day? Whatever your mood and however you would like to interpret this challenge, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge could not resist having a lucky challenge since this week it falls on St. Patrick's Day.
It’s St. Patrick’s Day, a perfect opportunity for me to use plenty of green in my design this week with the aid of Distress Inks Peeled Paint and touches of Forest Moss. I also wanted to incorporate Shamrock in my design, something we all associate with this special occasion. However, with no Shamrock images or products in my collection I had to think outside the box and decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Large Heart Set Die to create my three leaf clover and I am quite pleased with the outcome. Using the Tim Holtz Harlequin Layering Stencil gave me the perfect backdrop to my design.

I placed the Harlequin Layering Stencil over my background and applied Peeled Paint and touches of Forest Moss to add a shadow. To add further interest I added background stamping using the background stamp from the Classics 9 Stamp Set.

I die cut three hearts from white card using the Simon Says Stamp Large Heart Die and then coloured with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Inks. I scored each heart down the centre and bent to add shape. I added 'luck' to the centre using the Simple Sayings Stamp Set along with a coordinated button and twine for added dimension and texture.
I distressed the edges of my card with a Paper Distresser and then added my decorated piece to coordinated card and then added the sentiment 'good luck' to a banner and affixed to the bottom of my card.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and take a look at my fellow team members artwork, they have created some inspirational projects.
