Full on pop of colour was the order of the day for me this week to create my Spring inspired card.
I wanted to jazz things up a little this week with a pop of colour and I was in the mood for FUN so what better way to start than with a few SPLATS created using my Distress Stains broken china and wild honey. An anything goes challenge was my opportunity to have some fun with no rules, although I could not believe how much mess I could make from a few splats! The butterfly from the Easter Blueprint stamp set was perfect for adding a little more life to my card, you could say flying colours! The pop of colour adds a touch of spring to this card and I definitely had a spring in my step creating it!
I began this piece by simply colouring several pieces of card with Distress Inks. I applied wild honey, peeled paint, fired brick and broken china inks to my non-stick craft sheet spritzed with water and mopped up the colour with my card stock. I repeated this process for several pieces of card, some of which were used for stamping purposes. I then added a few splats for further interest in the background and purely because they are great fun. I stamped the butterfly directly onto my coloured card with black Archival Ink and then stamped my image a second time, this time cutting out the butterfly and adding on top of my first stamped image for added dimension. For further dimension I added a trinket pin to the top of the butterfly; fragile on the trinket pin was perfect for a butterfly image as their wings seem so fragile.
I added a second butterfly to the top coner of my card, this time stamping the butterfly a second time onto Wendy Vecchi's Clearly For Art modelling film to give movement and dimension. I also added a few wooden hearts coloured with wild honey Distress Ink for a little more interest.
I added BUTTERFLY to the bottom of my card, stamped twice onto spare pieces of coloured card. From this picture you can also see the fabulous splats; I had great fun with those.
FLY using Alpha Cards have been added to the top of my card, coloured with a little wild honey Distress Ink.

I like these butterflies by TH, and think You did an amazing job with this card! Love that is bright, sketchy...
Tracy...I love your springy card! Your dimensional butterflies are so lovely....and different The one done with the blueprint in the background is so cute; with it's Trinket Pin body. I love how you have popped one butterfly right on top of the other one. Then, your other butterfly with the transparent wings is really pretty as well. It really shows the sketching of the butterfly beautifully. Your splats of color are fun and go well with the layered cardstock. I also like your use of the Alpha Cards to spell "FLY". Very clever! As always, you did a great job! <3 Candy
