I am using the fabulous Vintage Sewing stamp set by Sam Poole once again for this weeks DT creation for Creative Expressions.
I created two vintage sewing books to showcase the stamps this week. Each page is 5" x 5" and I have machine stitched diagonally across each page, to give a patchwork feel to my books. The background of each page has been coloured with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and then stamped in the background with the images from the Vintage Sewing set using Coffee Archival Ink. I have then stamped the focal images with Black Archival Ink. I have bound my books with natural twine and added a brass sewing machine charm to each book.
Each page has been machine stitched across the diagonal and some of the pages have been decorated with papers from Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Paper Stash.
Each page has been decorated with the images from the Vintage Sewing set. I love these bodices which I have stamped onto white card, coloured with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I have also distressed the edges to add to the aged feel and added Black Soot Distress Ink to the edges. I have included an old label from some clothing, two button pins, a doily aged with Distress Ink and a rusty heart.
I have also decorated some of the pages with background stamping using images from the Vintage Sewing set. I love the machine stitching combined with the wonderful images.
I found some old tape measure and combined a natural fabric doily and button with the bodice images.
A wooden bodice has been added to this page along with some natural ribbon and a brass sewing charm for added dimension.
Further stamping using images from the Vintage Sewing stamp set.
A Tim Holtz Watchface has been added to this page along with Game Spinner and some computer generated text and the number 9 is from the Signmaker Alpha Parts.
A further wooden bodice has been added and the safety pin stamped with Black Archival Ink again from the Vintage Sewing stamp set.
I found some wonderful copper letters to add SEW to this page along with some wooden pegs, natural ribbon and more stamped bodices.
I love the mix of machine stitching, wooden elements, rustic elements and natural tones to this piece.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x
