Sketched Mini Book

Welcome, today I have a mini accordion, decorated using my A6 Stamp Sketched Happiness #177 from AALLandCreate. All products are available from our Stockists, which you can find HERE.
I love creating miniature projects and today I have a little accordion book. I began by die cutting my book using Eileen Hull's Needle Book Die from mountboard and I then brayered Dina Wakley Paints onto the background, using Tangerine, Lime, Turquoise and Magenta, applying the layers very lightly to my substrate.
Both the front and back covers were stamped with my quirky flowers from my Sketched Happiness stamp set.
I incorporated an accordion into my book, again adding layers of paint with my brayer. I added stamping using VersaFine Clair Ink and then added touches of colour with Gel Pens.
Torn vintage book pages add a touch more interest along with delicate splatters of white paint.
I also die cut a circle from scrap card and then used the aperture as a stencil, applying Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink over the aperture, giving a further layer of interest.
I love the sentiments on this set and stamped them throughout my accordion.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Tracy x x

Artsy Needle Book

Welcome to my weekly post for AALLandCreate. Today I am combining my A4 stamp and heart stamp with Eileen Hull's Needle Book Die.

You can find a list of our stockists for the AALLandCreate stamps HERE.
I love creating miniature pieces and Eileen's Needle Book die is perfect. I began by die cutting my piece from mountboard and then brayering paints onto my substrate, in this case Distress Paints Peeled Paint and Twisted Citron.

I used my A4 Layered Grunge stamp and my heart stamps for this piece and they worked beautifully together.
I created an accordion for the Needle Book and machine stitched around the outside edges for added extra texture.
I added lots of stamped layers including second generation stamping to my DREAM text so that it acted as a shadow in the background. I also added texture, applying texture paste through Autour de Mwa' stencil.
This is the stencil I used to add that much needed texture to the background.
I love using greens in my artwork, they are so fresh and uplifting. I also added numbers in the background stamped using my A4 Layered Grunge stamp set.
Book page hearts and delicate splatters of paint add further interrest to my design.
I also incorporated some delicate splatters of white paint.
From this picture you can just make out the second generation stamping in the background.
Finally the back of my needle book.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

Eileen Hull Needle Book

A little project created just for fun using Eileen Hull's Needle Book Die.
I combined Eileen's Needle Book Die with Visible Image Stamps and Tim Holtz paints and stencil.
I die cut my book from mountboard.
Lightly brayered Squeezed Lemonade and Weathered Wood Distress Paint onto the background of the book, adding a light layer of paint to both the inside and outside of the book, leaving some white spaces visible.
I applied Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to Tim Holtz Numeric Layering Stencil, pressing the inkpad directly onto the stencil and then spritzed with water.
Lay the Stencil ink side down onto the die cut piece and dab with a piece of kitchen towel and then remove the stencil.
Dry the ink with a heat tool.
As I used an eye stamp on the cover I thought Braille Paper as the pages was the perfect paper to add to the inside.
I added the eye stamp to both the front and back covers and added some white highlights with a Posca Paint Pen.
I added a Tim Holt\ Monocle over the eye to embellish and added Remnant Rubs 'look within' to the Monocle.
Tim Holtz Eye Chart Layering Stencil was used to to add letters flowing from the bottom of the eye image. I also added a vintage pen nib for added interest.
I added a little red heart I cut from paper along with some delicate red splatters of paint.
This was a fun little piece to create.

Eileen Hull Art With Heart Challenge - New Release

Welcome to my third post of the month for Eileen Hull's Art With Heart Challenge and this month we have something special....a new release! You can find the whole release HERE. Our Challenge this month is A STITCH IN TIME and you can intepret in anyway you like.
This week I have used the Needle Book and the Button Jars and Labels dies. I wanted all my pieces for the new release to all coordinate so once again these pieces have been coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I added the Button Jar to Eileen's Cookie Box and I covered the Button Jar in a piece of Tim Holtz fabric, adding coordinated twine to the top. I also added the die cut buttons which I coloured with Distress Inks Vintage Photo and Fired Brick, threading twine through the top button. I also used Tim Holtz Thinlits Labels to add a label to the top of my box, stamping with an alphabet to add the text buttons.
The outside of the box has been stamped with the Vintage Sewing stamp set from Artistic Outpost, stamping with Potting Soil Archival Ink and I also added three vintage buttons threaded with twine.
I added two pieces of felt to the inside of my Needle Book and used the Chevron Stitchlits Die to add holes to the felt and then added some random stitching and chain stitching.
I added a touch of colour to the felt to give an old vintage found feel to the piece again colouring with Vintage Photo Distress Ink; applying the ink to a non-stick craft sheet, spritzing with water and then mopping up the ink with the felt and then allowing to dry.
I added some random stitching to the back and front of the Needle Book for added texture and interest.
The front of the Needle Book has once again been stamped with imagery from the Artistic Outpost Vintage Sewing Set, stamped with Potting Soil Archival Ink. I also added some wooden letters decorated with Wendy Vecchi Tree Branch Embossing Powder along with random stitching and a touch of tissue tape.
