Hexagonal Stem

Today I am showcasing a card I created as one of my demo pieces from a few shows I have attended around the country, using my Border Stamp "Hexagonal Stem" #206, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I created a marbled background with shaving foam and I have to say I am thrilled with the colourway and blend of colours.
I added a few delicate touches of background stamping using my A6 Stamp "Background Mashup" #210, which adds a delicate touch of detail to my background without detracting from the focal iimage.
A few strands of cotton thread add further to the texture and delicate splatters of white paint lift the design.
I stamped my sentiment onto parchment paper for a further texture.
I used low tack tape to mask off the edges of my card, giving me a lovely white border so that my focal image stands proud in the central panel.

Seize The Day

Today I am showcasing a card I created as one of my demo pieces from a few shows I have attended around the country, using my Border Stamp "Hexagonal Stem" #206, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love creating this faux wood panelling effect and I also decided to get in touch with my purple side. I don't often use purple in  my creations and I thought it was about time I changed that.
Once I started creating a few cards in this colour way I could not stop. So the following couple of weeks you will be seeing a lot of purple from me!
I used Distress Oxides Wilted Violed and Shaded Lilac to colour my flower and I also added a touch more dimension on the hexagonal elements.

Seize The Day

Today I am showcasing a card I created as one of my demo pieces during my recent One Day Special on Hochanda, using my Border Stamp "Hexagonal Stem" #206, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love the vibrancy of this card, the colours really pop and adding several layers to the design draws the eye into the focal image.
Adding layers to the hexagons adds further dimension to the design along with a touch of stencilling.
A few delicate trademark white splatters lift the design further.
Cotton threads add further texture to the design.

Seize The Day

Today I have a card using my newly released Border Stamp, Hexagonal Stem #206 from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I adore this stamp, the background could be used on its own or together with the stamp and the flower could also be used on its own. This time around I opted for a clean fresh colour palette.
I applied a coupleof greens to my background using Distress Oxide Inks and then added a fine layer of Gesso using my palette knife. I then stamped my focal image onto the Gesso backdrop. The Gesso adds fabulous texture.
I also incorporated some skeleton leaves and random stitching for further texture to my design.
A few delicate splatters of white paint give the backdrop a further layer of interest.
I coloured my flower with pencils, adding three layersof colour.

Make A Difference

Today I have a card using my newly released Border Stamp, Hexagonal Stem #206, combined with my newly released A6 Stamps, Background Mash Up #210 and Hexagonal Tiles #208 from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love these three stamps combined together and the dramatic black Oxide backdrop really makes the other colours pop.
I used clear embossing powders on my hexagonal stems and then blended Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink over the top. Once I was happy with the depth of colour I then used a damp piece of paper towel to remove the black from the embossed areas. I then heated the powder a little more, so overheating it so that the embossing then had a matt look on some of the areas and I then applied touches of more of the Black Soot ink which will now stick to the design.
I also incorporated some vintage book pages and some delicate background stamping using my Background Mash Up stamp.
