Simple Book Idea

Afternoon everyone, hope you are all well. Today I am showcasing a simple book I have created for an on-line workshop which is prerecorded.

I really enjoyed creating this, I loved the process and I love the paired back feel.

This is a prerecorded workshop, if you would like to join the workshop, please feel free to email me at tracy@craft-addicts.co.uk.

I love the paired back feel of this piece

The grey and pink work so well together.

These are simple techniques but work so well to create a cohesive design.

At the moment I am really enjoying adding paperdolls to my creations.

Fungus Accordion

I have opted for an accordion card this time around, I love creating accordions, they offer so much opportunity for adding lots of layers. My design offers a clean and simple approch to a background on this occasion. I have showcased my newly released Border Stamp "Fungus" #275 along with my newly released Border Stamp "Knibs and Mushrooms" #276 from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love the freshness to this accordion, simple layers that still draw the eye into the design.
For the middle panel I simply applied Acrylic Paints over the Profusion Stencil, adding just a touch of detail to the background. I then stamped the nibs on top of the stencilled layer. I also added a touch of background stamping using my A7 Stamp Set "Heartfelt" #304.
I have also incorporated some wooden banners for added interest and dimension along with some torn bookpages.
On one of my other panels I brayered a simple layer of paint and then stamped the Fungus onto the brayered layer and also incorporated some background stamping.
Each panel also had some delicate splatters of black paint, only light layers so that we do not overpower the freshness of the design.

Pen Nib Card

Morning and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card for you showcasing my "Knibs and Mushrooms" Border Stamp #276 from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I am really enjoying using my nibs imagery at the moment, it's so versatile and easy to use in so many designs. Here I have set the nibs against a simple stencilled background. I have simply blended Wilted Violet and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide Inks over the Weathered Tiles Stencil.
There is quite a bit of detail in the focal image so I want to keep the background fresh and uncluttered for this card.
I have added a square spotlight to give definition to my design and to add further definition to the spotlight I have drawn around the shape with a grey Inktense pencil.
I have also used my "Frame It" Stamp Set #282 to add further detail to the edges of my card.
I use this sentiment a great deal in my creations it is from my A5 Stamp Set "Thankful Petals" #272.
To finish, I added a mini paperclip for further interest along with some delicate splatters of white paint.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Tracy x x

Owl Canvas

I have always loved using vintage tones in my artwork and this week I wanted to get back to everything I love, vintage colours, textural, organic piece and opted to create a canvas using my newly released A7 Stamp "Owl" #306 from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I just love the natural feel to this. I began by creating a faux wood plank background and then adding colour with Distress Oxides Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs. I then brayered a touch of white paint across the background to lighten it a little and to give it a shabby feel.
The central piece is a wood slice, which I thought worked perfectly with the organic feel of this piece. I brayered some white paint across the wood slice to lighten a touch.
I added a touch of background stamping using my A4 Stamp "Nature Elements" #267, I love the numbers in the background.
I also incorporated the pen nibs, which I stamped with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink, I love this look.
I added a pen nib, stamped onto book pages onto the wood slice and I added some dimension to my owl, stamping twice and then wrapping the owl with some soft wire. I also added some book pages to my owl for added interest and texture. For further texture I also added my trademark cotton thread behind the wood slice.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, I truly appreciate all your feedback. Tracy x x

In Art There Are No Mistakes.....

I absolutely love the colours on this card, the vibrancy is wonderful and showcases the pen nibs perfectly. I am showcasing my newly released Border Stamp "Knibs and Mushrooms" #276 for this piece. My new products are available from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I love using pink and orange together, this time around using Dina Wakley paints in Magenta and Tangerine. I simply brayered the colours onto the background of my card and then placed the Weathered Tiles Stencil #59 onto the background and wiped over the open areas with a babywipe to remove some of the paint.
I adore adding spotlights to my work and this time around I kept the spotlight in white for a contrast and I love the look. I also added an extra nib for added dimension.
I applied touches of Turquoise paint over the same stencil to add a second layer of colour.
I also incorporated some book pages for added interest along with some delicate splatters of white paint. The sentiment is from my A5 Stamp Set "Thankful Petals" #272.

Toadstool Plaque

I created this piece during one of my One Day Special shows. I love adding book pages and lots of layers to my designs and this piece showcases that perfectly. I have used my newly released Border Stamp "fungus" #275 from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
The addition of the book pages to this piece really lift the design and add a different element along with further layers.
I began by layering Lime and Elephant Acrylic Paints from Dina Wakley, brayering the paints on in layers and I then placed circular apertures onto my card and then wiped over to remove some of the paint with a babywipe. This gives me circular spotlights in the background. I also added a touch of shading to each of the spotlights using a grey Inktense Pencil.
I also added a touch of background stamping using my A4 Stamp "Nature Elements" #267, I adore the background details on this stamp and it is so versatile. You can use the whole stamp or parts of the background as I have done here.
I added a strip of card across my plaque and stamped the Toadstool sentiment, adding a mini paperclip for added interest.
I also added a mini bulldog clip for added interest and added a pen nib, wrapped in wire. I love these little touches they add so much to a piece.
