Love Hearts

I opted for an accordion card today using one of my favourite combination of colours, well my favourite for this month.
I love the comgination of the Cheddar, Fuchsia and Turquoise from Dina Wakley's range of acrylic paints. On this panel I created three different backgrounds, using three different techniques.

  1. Apply Cheddar and Fuchsia Acrylic Paint directly to the stencil, spritz the paint with water and then place the stencil, paint side down onto the white card, remove stencil and then dry the paint.
  2. For the middle panel I applied Fuchsia and Cheddar paint directly to my white card panel, applying with a Brayer and I then placed the stencil onto the painted backdrop and wiped over the stencil with a babywipe to remove some of the paint.
  3. For the third panel I applied my paint layers to a Gelli Plate, placed my stencil down onto the plate, pressed a piece of scrap paper onto the plate, removed the paper and the stencil and then placed my white card panel onto the Gelli Plate to lift the print.
I love how each layer adds so much interest to each panel. I applied Turquoise and touches of Cheddar Acrylic Paint to a piece of scrap white card and then stamped my heart stamp onto the coloured background. Cut out each heart and then ink my border stamp with Archival Ink and stamp the lines onto each of the hearts to add a further layer of interest.
I applied Black Soot Distress Ink to Autour de Mwa's stencil, spritz with water and then placed the stencil ink side down onto my background, dabbing the stencil with a piece of kitchen towel. Remove the stencil and this gives you a monoprint.
Delicate splatters of white paint have also been included along with some number brads for further dimension.
In this picture you can see clearly all the layers added to each of the hearts.
I also incorporated more lines using my border stamp, again stamping with Archival Ink.

The products used in my accordion are listed below:

You can find each of my stamp sets HERE and HERE and HERE, along with the stencil from HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy
