Eileen Hull Collaborates with Kunin Felt

This month the Eileen Hull Design Team are working with Kunin Felt combined with Eileen's Dies. Kunin Felt is made in the USA of 100% Polyester Fibre, made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles and it is of the highest quality and cuts like a dream when combined with Eileen's Dies.
I created a journal using Eileen Hull's Sizzix Scoreboards XL Die Journal and incorporated the felt which makes the journal so tactile. You can obtain this die in the UK from Country View Crafts.
I die cut the two covers from the felt but I then decided to add them to mountboard for extra stability so cut the binding away and simply adhered the felt to the die cut mountboard pieces which I then machine stitched together. I also spent some time playing around with the arrangement.
I had a broken frame and rather than throw it away I decided I would use it in this piece combined with a Tim Holtz Paper Doll.
She is holding one of Tim Holtz Bouquet Flowers from his Idea-ology range along with a want again from his Idea-ology range. I also used Distress Paint Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade, mixed together to add a touch of colour to my design. I also found this tiny bird which I though fit perfect.
I die cut one of the flowers from Eileen Hull's Stitchy Flowers & Leaf Thinlits Dies. I also added a Quote Chip which I stitched to the felt and also added some Distress Paint to coordinate with the touches of colour throughout.
I cut three flowers from the felt and even with a thinlits die it cut beautifully.
I also added some fabric for added texture along with a 7 Gypsies Architextures Feather. I also added some delicate splatters of Distress Paint.
I also included some chicken wire from the garden which I stitched to the felt.
I used Eileen Hull's House/Pocket Stitchlits Thinlits Die to add a pocket to the inside of my journal. I also covered the inside of my journal with a further piece of felt.
I added watercolour pages to my journal.
And I added elastic for binding.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

Your journal is beautiful Tracy, I know just how tactile it is too! It looks even more special with the felt lining and the added pocket is such a great idea. You have decorated the front beautifully and I love those few splashes of colour that you added too! Hugs, Anne xx
