Memories with Tim Holtz The Girls

It's May's Birthday today so firstly I would like to say a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to May, hope you have a fabulous day. As a result May has gone totally self-indulgent this week. So what will you create and how will you be inspired by the letter 'M'? It could be for the month of May, mists, magenta, markers, metal or even a masculine card, run wild and join in our challenge this week, the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge would love to see what you create.
The letter 'M' for me inspired a MEMORIES rustic wall hanging created from recycled corrugated card which I painted with Gathered Twigs Distress Paint to give warmth and age to my piece. Tim Holtz The Girls stamp was perfect for this piece as this image always brings back fond memories of when my daughter Laura was a toddler.
Once I had painted the corrugated card I added Wendy Vecchi's White Embossing Paste through the Measured Layering Stencil to add texture and dimension to the backdrop.  I stamped The Girls image onto a tag using Black Archival Ink and coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I added touches of pink to her dress colouring with pencils along with dimensional flowers using the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms die.
I added a piece of the Lattice Frameworks Die, cut from kraft card adding parts of the image from The Girls stamp to each of the diamonds. I love this die, so versatile and one I will use many times in my designs.
I added a piece of Tissue Wrap to my design along with an 'M' Alpha Part and Memories Rub On Words all showcasing the letter 'M' for this weeks challenge.
I stamped MEMORIES onto kraft card with Black Archival Ink and then coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I bent the card in several places to add creases to add to the aged feel. I also added more Remnant Rubs to The Girls image.
I added the face of The Girls image to a Monocle to add further interest and dimension to my design. I also included a twine bow and a further Bitty Blossom cut from kraft card.
To complete I added the Little Things sentiment which I thought was perfect for my Memories rustic wall hanging.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and take a look at my fellow team members artwork, they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated. Tracy x x

Tracy...your memories inspired wall hanging is so pretty. I love the corrugated background. It's such a contrast to the very soft, pink flowers and dress on the little girl. I think its very effective! The predominantly kraft piece really makes that pink pop. I love all of your textural elements here....the twine, the dimensional flowers, the frameworks die cut, the text, etc. It all really works well together. As always, a beautiful job. <3 Candy

This piece is stunning and once again proves that you are the Queen of Textures! I love the layers you've created and my favorite part is your incorporation of pink! The flowers blend into the girl's dress so perfectly and it quite visually stunning. Really a lovely piece and a wonderful tribute!
