May Flowers - Eileen Hull Artist Trading Block

Time for my first DT creation for the Eileen Hull Art With Heart Challenge and this is my first ATB creation, the first of many as these are so addictive! The challenge this month is MAY FLOWERS, simply include something of the floral variety in your projects and link your piece to the Art With Heart Challenge.
I used Eileen Hull's 3D Block Die to create my piece adding Metal Foil Tape around my design which I have embossed with Eileen Hull's Polka Dots and Starflowers Embossing Folder Set, I used the Starflowers in this design.
I began by cutting the the cube from mountboard, cutting two pieces to create the cube. I also cut corresponding squares to decorate each side.
Each square piece has been covered with Metal Foil Tape, embossed with the Starflowers Embossing Folder and then coloured with Sail Boat Blue and Meadow Alcohol Inks.
I die cut a frame from one of the square pieces using Eileen Hull's Decorative Frame and then added one of Tim Holtz vintage images from his Found Relatives which I colour tinted with broken china Distress Marker. I added a word band to the bottom of my design, adding touches of Distress Paint.
Wooden spools have been added to the bottom of my ATB to give some height and to add further interest to the design. Each spool has been coloured with Distress Paint.
Our theme this month is May Flowers so I knew I wanted to add a metal dimensional flower to the top of my design and the Tattered Floral die was perfect for this. I added Metal Foil Tape to thick card and then die cut 9 layers of the flower and then adhered each layer one on top of the other and bent the petals to add life and movement to my design. A charlotte has been added to the centre of the flower, coloured with Distress Paints along with a heart charm.
I decorated one of my other sides with a further vintage image and added a Chitchat sticker, coloured with a touch of Distress Paint.
I also added a further heart charm to the front of the box for further interest and dimension. I can see that I will be making a lot of these pieces as they really are addictive and great fun to make!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like my first DT piece for Eileen Hull and feel inspired to join along with our challenge.
