Dimensional Tag

This week Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge you to use a small stamp, or use a stamp in some small way on your project. Want to use stamps in a big way too? well you can! Feel free to run the opposite direction and do a tiny bit of BIG stamping.

I created a dimensional tag this week with a touch of stamping
This box tag was great fun to make adding wonderful dimension using the Sized Ovals die to create an aperture and I added lots of texture using Wendy Vecchi's White Embossing Paste in conjunction with the Crafters Workshop Templates Mini Letter Chaos and Mini Tile Texture templates. I added bits of stamping using the text stamp from the Stampers Anonymous Classics 9 adding a touch of stamping to the Locket Book too. I had great fun with this piece, challenging myself to only use a bit of stamping!
Take six jumbo tags or cut six tags from manilla card using Tim Holtz tag and bookplate die; cut an oval into each tag using the sized oval die. I cut an oval from one of the tags, placed this tag on top of the other tag, so that they were both lined up and then drew around the oval onto the tag. Repeat this process for all six tags and then cut out the oval.
Press fired brick and salty ocean Distress ink onto a non-stick craft sheet, spritz with water and then mop up the colour with one of the tags, this will be the top of our box tag.
Continue to apply ink to a non-stick craft sheet and mopping up the colour with the tag until you are happy with the coverage.
Apply fired brick Distress Ink around the edges of the inked tag.
Repeat the steps above for a further tag which will be the back of the box tag. Once completely covered spritz both coloured pieces with water to add blotches to the background.
Apply white embossing paste through the Mini Letter Chaos template onto the front and back tags.
Add a touch of stamping using the background stamp from the Classics 9 stamp set, do not apply to an acrylic block use as is, this gives a more random effect.
Here you can see the touch of stamping I have added with black Archival Ink.

Colour the embossed areas with fired brick Distress Ink and then add Treasure Gold olive bronze wax to all the raised areas using your finger.
Colour the Locket Book with Vintaj Patina marine dabbing the colour onto the book with Cut 'n' Dry foam.
Colour all the other tags with fired brick Distress Ink and then adhere one on top of the other for dimension.
Apply emobssing paste through the Mini Tile Texture template onto the top tag but keep the embossing as is, do not colour, this adds a contrast. Measure the width and depth of the tags when they are all adhered together, cut strips of card to fit all the edges and adhere to give a box.
Once everything is adhered securely, add the Locket Book to the centre of the aperture, colouring the raised areas of the book with Treasure Gold wax.
I added the large crown from the Regal Adornments, coloured with a touch of Treasure Gold wax and added above the Locket Book.
For further interest and dimension I have also included a pen nib just above the aperture.
I've added coordinated twine to the top of the tag.
I word band and smaller crown has been added below the aperture for added dimension and interest.  I have also added metal corners to the bottom corners of my tag.
A touch of stamping has also been added to the Locket Book stamping with black Archival Ink using the Classics 9 Stamp Set.
A couple more stamped angels added to the Locket Book.
I have also added ChitChat stickers to the accordion within the Locket Book.
These images are perfect for this book.
To complete I added Elements Tissue Tape to the edges.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.
