Winged Canvas

Time for a couple of peeks of samples I have made for Sheena Douglass, her shows are on Create and Craft on Friday at 11am and 7pm.
My first two pieces are coordinated canvases, both painted with antique white and a touch of ash brown Pebeo paints.
The feathers stamped in the background are one of Sheena's new stamps and I have to say the detail is amazing. I added stencilled wings, applying embossing paste through the stencil and colouring with black soot Distress Ink adding olive bronze Treasure Gold over the raised areas with my finger.
The crackle and the text I have used in the background are also new releases from Sheena.
This is the second canvas, this time colouring the wings with a touch of brushed corduroy Distress Ink and lots of Treasure Gold. The feathers this time around have been stamped with coffee Archival Ink.
Spirited is another of Sheena's stamps. I have stamped the large feather onto shrink plastic, makes for a great embellishment.
This picture shows the detail on the fabulous wings.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be back later in the week with more previews of samples for Sheena's shows on Friday.

Tracy, this is gorgeous! I boiught some of that embossing paste, but haven't used it yet. After seeing this, I might have to get it out and play with it. I love what you've done!

This evokes to me a sense of Native Americans, there is something mystical and tribal.
The use of the embossing paste if fabulous - a stunning creation.

Oh, even better (sorry, going backwards through these, catching up!) - these two canvases are simply perfect. Glorious layered stamping, fabulous natural palette, and the paste wings make an amazing central feature - absolutely wonderful!!

Wow! I was so drawn to those stenciled wings. They are gorgeous and then the layers of stamping behind them are harmonious.
