Let It Snow

Before I begin my post I would like to take this opportunity to announce the winner of the Simon Says Stamp STAMPTEMBER blog hop from my comments.  I had 219 comments and used Random.org to select a winner and the lucky winner is:

Simon Says Stamp will be in touch shortly Suzi with your $25 gift voucher. Many congratulations and thank you all for taking the time to leave a comment on my post and my fellow teamies blogs.

Now time for another card showcasing one of the fabulous Sketchy stamps along with lots more being shown on Create and Craft this Friday at 11am, 2pm and 6pm. Be sure to tune in to see Sheena Douglass demonstrating lots of fun techniques.
I think most of my Christmas cards have been blue this year so far, I just love the icy tones and they fit perfectly with Sheena's sketch.  I sponged the background with broken china Distress Ink and then stamped the image over the top with black archival ink.  I then used a paint brush and a little water and removed some of the colour from the buildings and the snowman.  I then added snowflakes using a little Gesso through a stencil, using a sponge to apply only a little at a time.
For a little more interest I added a snowflake trim using Tim's On The Edge snowflurries die. I also included two pearl snowflakes and pearl gems to the snowman's body for a touch of added dimension and interest.
For my second card I used the snowman alone, stamping him three times, colouring with Distress Ink and cutting out each image. I added Let It Snow to each of their bodies and I also spritzed with a little water for a further layer of interest.
I cut out 25 from the top of my card and added Christmas stamped with black archival ink and sponged with broken china. Each snowman has pearls added to their bodies and their noses have been coloured with a Distress Marker.
To add a little wow factor I decorated a wooden snowflake with UTEE, colouring the enamel with Cosmic Shimmer Ultra Thick Embossing Crystals and Perfect Pearls, stamping into the hot enamel with a text stamp for further interest.  To highlight the texture I rubbed a little silver paint dabber over the raised areas.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x
