SKULLS

For my weekly dose of 100 Proof Press I am using the SKULL image to create a card for my Nephew's birthday in November.
I began with a machine stitched web in one corner and hand sewed some skull beads against the web. The birds and splatter were stamped in black archival and I then added to black and white Bazzill card.
I added SKULL using Tim's Alpha Parts and added a coffin charm to the bottom corner, it actually opens too and reveals a full skeleton inside.
I stamped the SKULL image three times onto white card, coloured with black soot Distress Ink and bent slightly to give some dimension and added to my card. This stamp is going to be great for some of my Halloween makes this year!
I also added a skull to the inside of my card.

Vintage Typewriter

This weeks DT piece for Creative Expressions uses the Vintage Typewriter designed by Sam Poole.
I coloured the background piece with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and spritzed with water. I then machine stitched lines across the page and used my binding edge punch along one side. This piece was then added to co-ordinated Bazzill card and mini paper clips added to two sides.
The vintage typewriter has been stamped onto white card with black Archival Ink, sponged with vintage photo ink to age and I have added the sentiment "A Little Message Just For You" to the paper. I stamped the typewriter alphabet keys onto white card, sponged with vintage photo ink, cut out and added VINTAGE to the card.
I have added text to a small piece of white card and rolled to form a scroll, tied with Bakers Twine and added to the card along with a pen nib from Tim's Idea-Ology range. To complete I have added a hinge clip to the top of the card.

Steampunk Balloons

Time for this weeks DT creation for The Stamp Attic using the fabulous STEAMPUNK set from Inkadinkado.
I have created a 6" x 6" card this week, creating a sponged background with Distress Ink Weathered Wood and stamping the balloons in black Archival Ink.
I have added two rows of black machine stitching to the edge of my card and then matted onto co-ordinated Bazzill card. I have added two small piece of chicken wire in the corners to add to the masculine feel. Watch parts have been added to the balloons, adding to the STEAMPUNK theme.

The dashing gentlemen from Tim's Steampunk set have been added to a memory frame with Glossy Accents added over the top and the hand from the same set has been added to the bottom of my card.  To complete my creation I have added a small lightbulb from Tim's Idea-Ology range.

WOYWW, Its Been A While.......

................. since I joined in with the phenomenon that is What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, the brainchild of Julia.  I feel like a good old nose today so thought I would join in LOL.  If you would like to join me pop by Julia's blog HERE for more details.
I took this picture this morning, my clock in the window has actually stopped, note to self put in new battery, keep forgetting!!  My desk is as I left it last night, I am in the middle of creating a few cards for Making Cards.  I still have some of my chunky ATC's in the window, still trying to decide what to do with those.
This is my desk a little further to the right showing my new printers tray on the wall, which as yet has not been filled with some of my vintage finds. At the bottom of my tray are some of my creations along with yet another set of draws for my embellishments.
And this is where I am typing this morning.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Wednesday, Tracy x x

Just Because.......................

..................... I felt like it, making a card outside my comfort zone, using bright colours for a change rather than my usual grungy style, so for the past couple of hours I have been getting in touch with my feminine side.
My inspiration were the colours from The Play Date Cafe challenge.
Sometimes it is great just to spend a couple of free hours doing something just because you feel like it and that's my excuse this afternoon.
The stamp is from Hero Arts and I have been using my Spellbinders dies, about time too, I have not had them out of the packet since I purchased them.
Well that's enought of BRIGHT and BEAUTIFUL, back to the grunge tomorrow LOL.

What do you create when you want to work outside your comfort zone or do something a little different from the norm??

Men Only For Simon Says Stamp and Show

Time for the weekly dose of Simon Says Stamp and Show and this week we would like to see your Men Only creations.
I have enjoyed making chunky ATC' so much lately that the MEN ONLY challenge allowed me to indulge once again in these addictive forms of art.  This weeks piece has been adorned with stamped images from Wendy Vecchi's Steampunk Art and Tim's Steampunk set. The ATC has been coloured with Distress Stain Vintage Photo and all the background pieces coloured with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany. Each ATC has been spritzed with water to give the splatter effect. Embellishments include Idea-Ology Sprockets, Fragments, Memory Frame, Corners and a 7 Gypsies Knob.
Both sides have had chicken wire added for that masculine touch an idea picked up from my fellow team member Sarah. Vintage spools have been added to the base of my ATC, again coloured with Aged Mahogany and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I love this sentiment from Wendy Vecchi's set and again perfect for this weeks challenge.
My dashing gentlemen have been added to square Fragments and added to the side of my ATC, adding a piece of metal for the eye piece, again adding to the masculine feel.
This side has a piece of card added coloured with Distress Inks and stamped with Tim's Steampunk background stamp along with the lightbulb from Wendy's Steampunk Art. To complete I have added a steampunk embellishment from my stash.
The top of my ATC has been adorned with a knob from 7 Gypsies, some tiny tiny lightbulbs and a rusty key.

Pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects and remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Brick by Brick

This weeks 100 Proof Press DT piece uses the Long Tower Row stamp to create my chunky ATC.
I chose to do a chunky ATC once again as it reminded me of a brick and as I was stamping buildings I thought it was quite appropriate.  The ATC has been coloured with black soot distress stain and my image has been stamped in black archival ink onto a white ATC card and the edges have been coloured with black soot distress stain. I have added a layer of matt multi-medium over the top to give some protection from any marks. A placquette from Tim's Idea-ology completes the front of my ATC.
To the sides I have added a snippet of the image onto a piece of mountboard and clear embossed over the top to give some dimension.
The reverse of my ATC has more of the image stamped, again in black archival ink with a second placquette added for continuity.
I have added a lock and key to the top of my ATC from Maya Road, coloured with black soot distress stain and silver paint dabber.  To complete I have added a vintage spool for a handle.

If you would like to see more work using the wonderful 100 Proof Press images, pop by the blog HERE.

A Little Message Just For You..........

.................using the new Vintage Typewriter set from Creative Expressions.
I have created a chunky ATC for my first piece with this wonderful new set from Sam Poole. The ATC has been coloured with Distress Stain Black Soot and I have cut ATC's to fit the front and back cover using Tim's ATC & Corners Die.
On the front I have added text from an old book and distressed the edges with Distress Ink Vintage Photo.  I have stamped the lovely vintage typewriter onto white card and added the sentiment "a little message just for you" to the paper and then added clear embossing powder over the top to give a sheen.
On the reverse I have stamped the alphabet in black Archival Ink and added the stamp image in coffee Archival ink, masking the image and then stamping the alphabet.  I have also cut up the alphabet to add the text, INK, STAMP and TYPE. The edges have been aged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. I have also added a Hinge Clip from Tim's Idea-Ology range, which I feel fits perfectly with these images.
Both sides have been decorated in the same way adding the stamp image along with the perforated border, again aged with Vintage Photo. I have also added two vintage cotton spools to the bottom of my ATC, acting as a stand again coloured with Distress Stain Black Soot.
The top of the ATC has the typewriter ink bottle added, another image from the set along with a paper clip, Hinge Clip and vintage cotton spool.

Framed Florals

Crafty Individuals challenge this month is HANGING ABOUT and I really wanted to take a break from DT work and participate in a challenge just for fun.
I decided to decorate this hanging frame which I painted with Fresco Finish Paints.  I wanted to create a classic piece in black and white with a hint of silver with my embellishments.
The stamped images within the frame are from Crafty Individuals, CI-262, all stamped in black archival ink onto white card stock. I have added some small domino type embellishments DREAM, BELIEVE and IMAGINE.
Small black roses have been added to each frame to give a real feminine touch to the frames.
The finishing touches are a couple of pewter bees hung from jump rings.  I would also like to add this to The Stampman Challenge which this time around is MONOCHROME and ONE OTHER COLOUR.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated. Enjoy your week. Tracy x x

Simon Says Stamp and Show an ATC

A first for me, a CHUNKY ATC, one which I thoroughly enjoyed making using Tim's Season's Silhouettes and Odds And Ends set of stamps. The ATC was painted with an undercoat of Claudine Hellmuth's Gesso and a top coat of Distress Stain Broken China. I used all four sides to the max, decorating each with Tim's Reindeer Flight and adding a couple of the special Christmas Adornments from Tim. Noel, Joy and Christmas were added to jump rings, a favourite technique for me at the moment.

I stamped the background stamp from Tim's Seasons Silhouettes onto glossy card and embossed with white embossing powder, applying Distress Stain broken china over the top, removing the ink from the embossed areas with a damp piece of kitchen towel.  The reindeers have been cut from Grungepaper and a piece of music paper which was adhered to the top and coloured with Distress Ink vintage photo. On one of the reindeer I have added a piece of packaging which has been embossed with the Snow Flurries Texture Fade.
To the top I have added a snowflake from the Winter Wonderland die, again coloured with Distress Stain broken china.  The ticket from Tim's Odds and Ends set is stamped with Distress Ink broken china.
I have added CHRISTMAS to jump rings, adhered with Glossy Accents along with 25 added to a bottle cap, again adding Glossy Accents to adhere.
I have added one of the wonderful Christmas Adornments to the other side of my ATC, in this case the reindeer.

Steampunk

Another little STEAMPUNK creation for The Stamp Attic using the new Inkadinkado STEAMPUNK set. Thought I would move away from the altered side this week and actually make a card. I must admit I really enjoyed creating a little more in the way of a steampunk creation and it is slowly becoming a favourite theme of mine at the moment.
My background has been coloured with Distress Inks aged mahogany and vintage photo and spritzed with water. I have added a metal element using some chicken wire, an idea I picked up from Sarah (thanks so much Sarah) which I feel fits perfectly for a steampunk theme. My background has been stamped with black Archival Ink using the image from Tim's STEAMPUNK set.
The balloon has been stamped in black Archival Ink from the new set from Inkadinkado and I have added the pointing finger to the top, again from Tim's set. STEAMPUNK is from Wendy Vecchi's STEAMPUNK ART.
To embellish I have added a Pen Nib from Tim's Idea-ology range along with Sprockets and steampunk embellishment (which is available in the shop but not yet on line), all coloured with StazOn timber brown ink to blend in with my background colours.

More Handsome Hares

I have been using those Handsome Hares once again for my 100 Proof Press DT creation.
My background has been coloured with Distress Stain wild honey and sprayed with Memories Mist pale ale.  I have stamped the Handsome Hares in coffee archival ink and added the Angled Pocket Watch to the background.
I have added white highlights with a gel pen to lift the page a little and matt my piece onto Graphic 45's Stampunk Debutante paper and then onto co-ordinated Bazzill card.  Metal pieces have been added for decoration along with HARES added to jump rings and a brass key.

Joke Card

Wow the weeks come around so quickly, must be my AGE LOL.  Talking of age, I have been using the Wrinkles Don't Hurt set of stamps for my CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS weekly DT piece.
The idea behind this card was to create a joke card, similar to the ones you can purchase in the card shops.  I wanted the sentiments to really stand out so kept to the classy palette of black and white, shading only a few areas here and there.  The sentiments make such a great addition for humorous cards or notelets.
The only embellishments I have added are co-ordinated buttons and a circular bloom.

Steampunk Shrine For Simon Says

It's Monday and that can only mean one thing in my household, yes it's time for another Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge and this week we would like you to show your STEAMPUNK creations.
I was eager to use one of the Wendy Vecchi Artful Shrines and the STEAMPUNK theme seemed the perfect opportunity. My shrine was coloured with Distress Stain Vintage Photo and decorated with Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Paper. I added art parts from the Dress Forms And More set (using the heart and dress form), decorating the dress form with Graphic 45 papers and adding Black Ultra Thick Enamel to the heart. To add dimension the whole piece was adorned with Idea-Ology, Game Spinners and  Sprocket Gears.
The outside edges of my shrine are stamped with the background stamp from Tim's Steampunk set of stamps in black Archival Ink. Gadget Gears were cut from Grungepaper using the Gadget Gears die and coloured with Distress Stain, added to the top of my shrine and to the back of my bodice.
I also added wings to my heart cut from Grungepaper using the Heart Wings die. I coloured the wings with Distress Ink vintage photo and added watch parts to each. I also added STEAMPUNK to jump rings adhered with Glossy Accents, I love doing this in my projects at the moment.

Pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects and remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.
