Vintage Dressform

Morning everyone, Happy New Year.

Today I am showcasing a mixed media card using my newly released A6 Stamp "Style It" #245, combined with my newly released border stamp "All Measured Up" # 235 from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
Today I opted for a vintage feel but with a real freshness to the design. Vintage does not always have to mean dull you can add touches of white elements and it really lifts the design.
I stamped the vintage ruler in the background but stamped it without using an acrylic block to give a more random feel to the backdrop.
The background panel for the dressform is coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and then splattered with a few drops of water, to add further to the aged feel of my design.
I stamped a couple of pieces onto white card to lift the design and I also incorporated some soft wire for added texture along with a wooden button and paperclip for added interest.
I also tore some of the edges of my focal piece, again to add to that aged feel of this piece.

Vintage Canvas

Morning everyone, hope you are enjoying your Christmas festivities. Today I am showcasing a mixed media canvas using my newly released A6 Stamp "Style It" #245, from AALLandCreate. Our stockists can be found HERE.
I loved creating this canvas, just losing myself in creating lots of layers for a real tactile piece.
I began by applying lots of layers of vintage book pages and then colouring those pages with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I then added a layer of crackle paste for further texture and interest.
An embroidery hoop seemed the perfect partner with the focal imagery, once again I coloured the hoop with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and added touches of Gold Wax for a metallic touch.
I incorporated some threads and soft metal wire for a further textural element. I also added dimension to my bodice.
A small twig heart and some coordinated stones finish the design.
I added a touch of colour to the crackle paste, applying Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the surface. I pressed my Ink onto a non-stick craft sheet, spritzed with water and then used a water brush to add a wash over the texture.
