Compendium Of Curiosities 3 Challenge - Challenge 9 - Stamps and Framelits

I have taken some time out this afternoon to join in with the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge which this time around is Stamps and Framelits page 63 in the book. There is a fantastic prize on offer from the fabulous sponsor Inspiration Emporium and there is an array of wonderful projects from the Curiosity Crew.
I decided to decorate one of Tim Holtz burlap panels this time around, I just felt like something a little different from a card. I find challenges great for a starting point to inspire you on your creative journey. If you are ever stuck re where to start, join in a challenge it always gets my creative thoughts flowing! I began by adding tissue wrap to the background torn randomly and adhered in place. I then applied embossing paste through the Christmas Layering Stencil and then setting aside to dry. Once dry I then painted the background with Broken China Distress Paint and added a few paint splats with white paint.
I wanted my snowman to stand out against the burlap panel so I cut four layers which adds great dimension to the design and I love how he stands proud on the panel. For the last layer of the snowman I added Tissue Wrap to a piece of white card and then die cut the body, the text adds just a touch more interest to the design.
I used Tim's trimmings to give my snowman a scarf and added a rusty bell and a touch more dimension to his hat. I also included a large wooden snowflake which I painted with Distress Paint and then added a Christmas Muse Token to the top.
I added a few Christmastime Remnant Rubs to the background for a further layer of interest. Touches of colour has been added to the snowman using Distress Inks.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Hope you find time to participate in the challenge it is great fun to just take some time out to be creative.

Tracy...I so love this burlap panel. The frosty blue and white background that you've mixed among the texture of the burlap is striking. Love the snowflake with the "jingle" philosophy tag in the center. Your layered blueprint snowman is beyond adorable! I also love the embossed words in your background. Those are amazing! Everything you have done here is so festive with such a vintage feeling. Thanks for sharing with everyone at CC3C. <3 Candy
