You Are The Hero In Your Own Story

Time for this weeks DT creation for Artistic Outpost and this week I am showcasing the PAPERBOY plate.
I have gone for a more rustic, grungy feel this week using the Tim Holtz Harlequin Layering Stencil for my backdrop combined with Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. I applied the Brushed Corduroy first through the stencil and then added touches of Walnut Stain to add some shading. I then blended Brushed Corduroy over the backdrop and then flicked the background with water to add blotches to the backdrop for added interest.
Background stamping has been added using the fabulous background stamp from the PAPERBOY plate and Potting Soil Archival Ink. I die cut a tag from white card added further detail with the Harlequin Stencil and shading with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and then stamped the PAPERBOY with Black Archival Ink. I added a pen nib and 'HERO' to the bottom corner for added interest.
A twine bow has been added to the top along with a further pen nib. The bow adds to the rustic feel of my piece. I added the sentiment 'You are the HERO in your own story' to the top of the card again coloured with Distress Inks and flicking the background with water.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

The rustic, grungy appearance appeals to me so much and is perfect for those stamps, especially the boy.
