Spring Is Here

I am dreaming of Spring with this weeks creation for Artistic Outpost using the fabulous BIRDS OF A FEATHER plate.
I created the background using Wendy Vecchi's Archival Re-inker technique which you can find HERE.
I used Archival Re-inkers Aquamarine and Potting Soil for the backdrop and then added background stamping using Potting Soil Archival Ink and distressed the edges of my piece to add to the aged feel. I cut a banner from the inked card stock and again added background stamping and distressed the edges with a pair of scissors.
I die cut a circle from my inked card stock and then stamped the bird with Potting Soil Archival Ink, adding Archival Ink around the edges of the circle for definition. Three dimensional flowers have been added cut from teal card, applying Treasure Gold Wax to the edges of each petal.
I added 'Spring' to the top of the die cut circle and added the sentiment 'Spring is here' to the bottom of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Tracy x x

I love the fluidity of your background and a beautiful colour combination. That bold blue works gorgeously well and it certainly is a touch of Spring in gloomy February.

What a gorgeous card, Tracy!! Love these colors and your beautiful handcrafted flowers!! I'm ready for spring, too. The past day has brought snow then freezing rain, then more snow. Yikes!! ~ Blessings, Tracey

Your recent makes have completely sold me on this stamp set - and I think this may be my favourite of the lot... I love the inky colours in the background, the shabbied papers, and the bird looks great in his circular frame.
