Industrial Hearts

It's a favourite with all you crafters this week, yes it's ANYTHING GOES at Simon Says Stamp and Show, so you can do anything that takes your fancy.
I fancied going for a real industrial feel this week with my decorative heart using Tim's Riveted Patchwork technique from A Compendium Of Curiosities Volume ll along with masses of Metal Foil Tape and Alcohol Inks ginger and pitch black.
All the texture in the background has been added by hand and I have added three dimensional hearts cut from grey board using the Mini Gadget Hearts Movers and Shapers die adding Metal Foil tape to the top and embossing with the Riveted Metal Texture Fade and again colouring with Alcohol Ink. Rusty wire has been added to each heart to add to the industrial feel of my creation.
I found a grungy door knob in my stash which I thought was a perfect addition along with a Chitchat sticker to the centre.  I love the sentiment "Art Begins With A VISION" from Wendy Vecchi which I also stamped onto Metal Foil with black StazOn ink, adding a little ginger Alcohol Ink to the outside edge to blend with my background.
For added dimension and interest I have added a small Fractured Doll which I have grunged up a little with black Paint Dabber and ginger Alcohol Ink. I did sand my doll a little too so that the paint went into the scratched areas to add to the aged feel, adding rusty wire to the body adds to the industrial piece.
I have to say this technique is slowly becoming a favourite of mine and one I am sure I will use many times as it adds so much interest and texture to a piece.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated.  Enjoy your week. Tracy x x

Tracy, your industrial style heart is so darn cool! I had seen that technique in Tim's book and had thought about giving it a go. Now, I have to! Your piece is so amazing! Love the depth and the distressing. All of that detail on the riveting, wire wrapped heart and Tim's frozen Charlotte style doll. It is all just such an original and cool idea! <3 Candy

Tracy, this is one killer heart! I love it. Also really cool how you left that one section un-rivoted where you stamped the sentiment... love that smoothness against the rest.
