We are encouraging you to use TEXTURE in your pieces this week for Simon Says Stamp and Show.
I decided to encourage you all to Dream A Little Dream this week with my original piece using Tim's Dream A Little stamp combined with lots of texture from torn masking tape, rusty elements and stitching. Adding a little dimension with a Large Bottle Cap.
I tore lots of masking tape into differing sizes and added to a piece of grey board, this adds great TEXTURE and interest to your background and once coloured the edges take on a more intense colour which also adds a little more detail to the background. I have stamped the Kaiser Numbers stamp with Embossing Ink and embossed with white Embossing Powder and then coloured with Distress Inks peeled paint and chipped sapphire which makes the numbers pop from the background and adds yet more texture to my creation. For yet more interest I added machine stitching to a couple of areas on my piece.
I love dimension in my creations and this time around I decided on a large bottle cap coloured with ginger Alcohol Ink to blend with my other rusty pieces. I cut a circle to fit the centre and stamped part of my image onto the circle and added UTEE. Once dry I placed my piece into the fridge for a few minutes and then cracked the enamel, rubbing a little brown ink into the cracks to add to that aged/grungy feel.
More dimension has been added to his wings with rusty wire, I love adding rusty pieces in my work and on this piece it coordinates perfectly with the rich blue of the chipped sapphire. I cut DREAM from white card using the DREAM Movers and Shapers Alterations die and coloured with Distress Inks to ensure it can be seen against my background.
His crown has been stamped twice onto white card and again a third time for the ORIGINAL element all adding that little bit more dimension and interest.I tore lots of masking tape into differing sizes and added to a piece of grey board, this adds great TEXTURE and interest to your background and once coloured the edges take on a more intense colour which also adds a little more detail to the background. From this picture you can see the detail the embossing gives along with the stitching and masking tape. I have added a wing from Adornments Regal which I have coloured with ginger Alcohol Ink and hung from a Hinge Clip with Jump Rings.
