A TRIO OF WINGED THINGS

Colour, colour and more colour, yes that's what we are looking for this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show, your KALEIDOSCOPE OF COLOUR creations.
A trio of Winged Things was the starting point for my kaleidoscope of colour pieces aptly added to vibrant backgrounds created with Faber Castell Gelatos combined with embossed backgrounds. Those vibrant colours were created from Red Yellow Gelatos with the aid of clear embossed backgrounds and a little help from Metallic Pitt Pens and gold Metallic Pencil.
My card is a 6 x 6 piece of Core'dinations cardstock which I have sanded around the edges. Magenta Butterfly Garden is the focal point for my background piece which I embossed with clear embossing powder onto white card. I then added orange and yellow Gelatos to my background, adding the yellow first and blending with my finger and then moving onto the orange and repeating until my background is covered.  I then removed the colour from the embossed areas with a piece of damp kitchen towel. I then cut around my image and matted onto coordinated card stock. My winged image is stamped with monarch orange Archival Ink, stamping the wings and crown twice to add a little dimension.

The sentiment "She only FLEW when no one could see" from Wendy's It's Face Art has been stamped onto white card with monarch orange ink and the background coloured with Gelatos and blended with my finger. I stamped a piece of white card with the vine from It's Face Art with VersaMark Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder and blended colour from the Gelatos on top of the embossed images. I stamped the vine once again with monarch orange ink to give a little more interest and then cut two butterflies from this decorated piece using the Mini Butterflies Movers and Shapers die. For added interest and dimension Pen Nibs were added to the butterflies bodies which I coloured with terracotta Alcohol Ink.
The background on my tag is the Wallpaper background from Tim's Wallpaper and Wood set which I embossed with clear embossing powder and again adding colour from the yellow and orange Gelatos. My winged image is stamped with coffee Archival Ink and again I have added dimension to the wings and crown which this time around have been coloured with the Faber Castell gold metallic pencil which I blended with my water brush. I stamped SERENDIPITY onto white card with Archival Ink and added highlights of gold with a gold metallic Pitt pen.
I cut a heart from white card using the Mini Heart Set and coloured with the Gelatos adding vintage photo Distress Ink to the edges. Heart came from the text on her dress which I stamped and coloured with yellow Gelatos and added to the centre of my heart.  I also stamped the words on her dress twice again to add a little dimension.
The background on my final tag is created using the Crafter's Workshop Mini Numbers Collage template. I added VersaMark ink to the template, adding the ink directly to the template, removed and then applied clear embossing powder. Gelatos were then blended with my finger over the embossed area adding a little walnut stain Distress Ink to the edges. I tore some of the edges of my tag and then reapplied the walnut stain ink.  The numbers from Wendy's Border Patrol stamp are stamped with coffee Archival Ink and machine stitched to my tag. I added a little colour from the Gelatos to my winged image and used a water brush to blend the colour, again adding dimension to her wings and hat. I have added a Mini Numeral coloured with terracotta and butterscotch Alcohol Inks which fits perfectly with the numbers on her wings and those I have machine stitched to the bottom of my tag.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Your designs are wonderful. Love your winged little girls. :) The one you used twice looks like a completely different stamp! <3 Candy
