Inspiration Studio 490

Time for another of our weekly challenges over at Simon Says Stamp and Show and this week we would like to see your Studio 490 creations.

It had to be an Art Parts Five Panel Frames for me this week, more space to get a little creative and advenutrous with everything Studio 490. Steampunk is a favourite for me which I have showcased in this decorative piece covered with Tim's Tissue Wrap Terminology and adorned with lots of Studio 490 in the form of Art Parts For The Guys; Art Parts Scallop Trim and Steampunk Gears and More.

The frame itself has been coloured with Distress Ink peeled paint with a few touches of picket fence Distress Stain. I then added the scallop trims, adhering with Glossy Accents and ageing a little with Distress Ink vintage photo; once these were in place I could then play around with embellishing.

My first scallop shelf supports the handsome gentleman, stamped onto the coordinated Art Part, coloured with Distress Ink broken china adding a jump ring to his jacket for added dimension. I have also added some wire which I have wrapped around a paint brush to coil, I love metal details in my steampunk creations. Two small light bulbs added for further interest along with a pen nib (thanks Lynn). Below my shelf I have hung some coiled wire, suspended in place with hitch fasteners, adding a couple of nuts from my husbands tool box, always a necessity when I am creating a steampunk piece.  I have added one of Wendy's steampunk gear Art Parts, again coloured with Distress Ink, adding a little gold paint dabber to the edges and adhering to the scallop shelf with Glossy Accents. STEAMPUNK ART has been stamped at the bottom of my frame using black Archival Ink.
An Idea-ology watch clock face along with game spinners have been added to the top of the frame to balance out my layout.  For added interest I have included three fragments decorated using Wendy's technique with Glue 'N' Seal and Clear Rock Candy and colouring with Alcohol Ink.  I added "The Head is a machine" part of a sentiment from Wendy's Steampunk Art set, perfect for a steampunk piece.

I have added the key and cog from Wendy's Art Parts, coloured with Distress Ink and edges with gold paint dabber, adding washers and Idea-ology sprocket gear for that masculine touch along with a little more coiled wire for good measure.  Metal hardware corners along with chunky washers have been added to complete the look.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated.  Enjoy your week. Tracy x x

One of the reasons I love Steampunk is the ability to go all out and over the top with details.
