We are looking for your FAVOURITE WORD this week with Simon Says Stamp and Show, so many words to choose from, difficult to decide on just one. However, after much deliberation I decided that one of my favourite words of the minute is IMAGINE highlighted here with the use of the IMAGINE die which inspired my IMAGINE If We Had Wings piece. The image from Winged Things 1 gave me the perfect image to use in my imaginitive piece. Wings from the Regal Adornments along with a metal Word Band added to the overall piece.
My book cover has been decorated using kitchen towel. I added gears to my book cover cut using the Gadge Gears die from thick card along with two vintage keys all adhered with Glossy Accents. Once the die cut pieces were completely dry I then added the kitchen towel, adhering with watered down PVA glue, ensuring the layers of towel adhered to the die cut pieces. I then left over night to dry.
Once completely dry I coloured the kitchen towl with Distress Ink peeled paint, highlighting the raised areas with vintage photo ink. From this image you can see the fantastic texture the kitchen towel gives. IMAGINE was also coloured with peeled paint and vintage photo ink with a little walnut stain added to lift a little from the background. I added a metal Word Band "possibility begins with imagination" , which I felt was perfect for this creation.
"If We Had Wings" was printed on my computer and again coloured with Distress Inks. My image which I love has been stamped onto white card with black Archival Ink, adding a little dimension to the wings and crown. For a little more interest I have also added a couple of mini gears.
I have coloured my crown and wings with peeled paint and vintage photo ink and added clear embossing powder to each. The wings from the Regal Adornments have been coloured with lettuce Alcohol Ink so that they tone in with the whole piece and also add a little more dimension and interest.

Tracy, your book cover is so neat. I love the embossing you've done on this and how you've distressed everything. The little winged fairy girl is so cute. I remember that set of Tim's. Not one that I have...but HAVE to have! :) Your book cover is awesome. I'd love to see the inside when you finish it. <3 Candy
