Beauty Of Love

Today I am showcasing the fabulous Couture Creations 3-in-1 Floral Collection from Creative Expressions.

I have actually used the embossing folder from the collection along with one of the ornate dies.
White Foundations Card has been coloured with Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress inks, simply applying the inks to a Non-Stick Craft Sheet, spritzing with water and mopping up the beads of ink with the card.
I have highlighted the embossed frame with Pewter Gilding Wax to highlight the detail and I have then added the face from Tim Holtz Classics 5 Stamp Set, stamping with Black Archival Ink. I have then die cut the ornate embellishment that coordinates with the bottom of the frame, coloured with Distress Inks and added touches of Gilding Wax.
I created a flower by simply cutting a long strip of card, colouring with Distress Inks and snipping into the strip and then rolling to form the flower. I have also included some natural twine behind.
Background stamping has also been added using the background stamp from Tim Holtz Classics 4 Stamp Set using Salty Ocean Distress Ink to give a tone on tone feel. I have added the sentiment which is from the 3-in-1 set to complete my design.

GO TOGETHER!

This week I have used the Chalkboard Wisdom and the Birds Of A Feather plates from Artistic Outpost.

I've moved away from my grungy side and opted for a more pretty style for this week.
Pretty background papers have been used and I have also included a zipper for a little more interest.
I have added 'Go Together' as I thought this worked perfectly with the two girls. A wooden bird has also been added to add further dimension.
I've die cut a flower using the Tattered Floral die, cutting from Calico and colouring with Distress Stain. Natural twine has been added behind the flower along with a lace doily and small brass heart.
Two wooden hearts have been added and I have coloured the edges of my card with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to coordinate with the rose from the vintage papers.
The two girls have been added to a postcard and coloured with Distress Markers.

One Of A Kind

The Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge this week is to use TISSUE in your creative piece. Anything from decoupage to giftwrap, home decor to cardmaking there is so much possibility for tissue of all kinds to be used on this challenge. Or you could go in a totally different direction and alter a tissue box or even make something tissue thin, the choice is yours!
I decided to create a canvas this week as I love adding tissue to canvas giving wonderful texture in the backdrop.
These are some of the products I began with for my mixed media canvas. A melt pot, heart from Wendy Vecchi's Hearts, Love and Stars Art Parts, white tissue paper, canvas.
Tear the tissue paper into pieces and then scrunch each piece.
Apply the tissue to the canvas using Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium Matt.
Cover both the canvas and the heart with tissue paper and set aside to dry thoroughly.
Spritz the canvas with water and then add Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Paint to the canvas and blend the colours with a paintbrush.
Continue to add Distress Paint and blend until you are happy with the depth of colour. Look at the fabulous texture the tissue gives to the canvas.
Once the canvas is completely dry highlight the texture and detail from the tissue with Treasure Gold White Fire Metallic Wax.
The wax really highlights the texture beautifully, I never tire of this technique!
Apply White Embossing Paste through the Mini Ferns Template applying the Paste at different thicknesses to add further to the dimension and texture.
Add touches of stamping to the background using the background stamp from the Classics 4 stamp set and Coffee Archival Ink. Use the stamp as is, do not add to an acrylic block this makes random stamping more simplified.
Add Black UTEE to a Melt Pot, set the thermostat at the UTEE setting and the enamel will melt in a few minutes.
Pour the hot UTEE into a Martha Stewart Fern Mould and set aside to cool.
Place the background stamp from the Classics 4 Stamp Set uppermost onto a flat surface and then apply VersaMark Ink to the stamp. This acts as release agent so that the enamel will peel away from the stamp.
Place a heart cookie cutter onto the background stamp.
Pour hot UTEE into the cookie cutter and set aside to cool.
Remoe the fern from the mould, as you can see the enamel picks up all the wonderful detail beautifully.
Paint the enamel with Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Paint and then heat for a few seconds to set. Remember do not heat for too long or the enamel will melt once again.
I love the detail on the heart from pouring hot UTEE onto the background stamp. Highlight the wonderful detail with White Fire Treasure Gold Wax.
To add further detail I have also added Remnant Rubs Words. You can also see from this picture the subtle background stamping I added to the canvas.
The heart Art Part has been added to the canvas along with the UTEE heart set to one side, both adding wonderful dimension to my canvas.
LOVE Art Part has been added to the top of my canvas painted with Distress Paints adding highlights with White Fire Treasure Gold Wax.
The enamelled fern has been added to the bottom of my canvas for added dimension and interest.
I also added a fern to the large heart along with some random background stamping and Remnant Rubs Words.
For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Henna Mosaic

It's Friday so that means it is my day for Creative Expressions and today I am using a new stamp Henna Mosaic part of the Singles range.
I decided to create a flower for this week using the Henna Mosaic stamp. The background is created with Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink, applying the ink to a Non-Stick Craft Sheet and spritzing with water and then mopping the ink up with the card.  I am using the fabulous new Foundations Card 300gsm for all my inky work.
Background stamping has also been added using Fern Green Archival Ink and the background stamp from Tim Holtz Classics 9 Stamp Set.
I used a skewer to add a stem to my flower and added leaves using Wendy Vecchi's Stencils For Art 3 Flourishes, applying Fern Green Archival Ink through the stencil. GROW has been added to the side of the card using the Vintage Alphabet by Sam Poole.
One of my trademark twine bows has been added to the bottom of the stem along with a coordinated button for added dimension and interest.
I stamped the Henna Mosaic image onto the coloured card with Aquamarine Archival Ink and then stamped the Henna Mosaic stamp with Aquamarine and Fern Green Archival Inks onto white Foundations Card and cut out each layer and then added each layer one on top of the other to give me my dimensional flower. A coordinated button has been added to the centre of the flower.
I love the dimension from the flower. I also distressed the edges of the card with a pair of scissors.
Don't forget it is "Fun Time Friday" once again on the Creative Expressions Facebook page, simply leave a comment and you could be in with a chance of winning a fabulous prize.

FLY

Before I begin with this weeks DT piece for Artistic Outpost, I just wanted to mention that my BLOG CANDY giveaway remains open until Monday. I will draw a winner on Sunday night and post the goodies on Monday morning. All the details are HERE.
Now onto this weeks DT piece for Artistic Outpost using the fabulous CHALK IT UP plate and the CHALKBOARD WISDOM plate.
The background of my card has been coloured with Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks and spritzed with water. I have then stamped the bird from the BIRDS OF A FEATHER plate with Black Archival Ink, adding three frames from the CHALK IT UP plate, adding three layers for added dimension.
I have added leaves using Embossing Paste and stamped into the paste to add further interest and then highlighted the wonderful texture with wax.
The sentiment is from the CHALKBOARD WISDOM plate which I have cut up into pieces and added to the background.
I have added FLY using wooden letters along with wooden flowers for added interest.
