Lucky Is A State Of Mind!

The start of a new month sees the start of a new challenge with Eileen Hull's Art With Heart Challenge and this month our theme "Go Green"; you could tie this in with St. Patrick's Day, create a fun up cycling project, or an outdoor vintage travel theme, however the challenge inspires you we would love to see where creativity takes you.
I decided to decorate a mini book/travel journal; one of Eileen's new releases from CHA 2015 which will be available soon; this little book is fast becoming one of my favourite dies. I decorated the book with Peeled Paint and Gathered Twigs Distress Paints and I stitched the front and back cover to the spine, I love adding stitching to my artwork.
I used Tim Holtz Heartfelt Die to create the three leaf clover, adding three layers to each piece and then sewing into place, bending each heart to add dimension and I also included a heart charm for added interrest along with some rusty wire.
LUCK has been added to the front cover cut with Tim Holtz Wordplay die from mountboard and then coloured with Potting Soil Archival Ink and sprinkled with Tree Branch embossing powder. I love the aged look this gives to the letters.
Eileen's die comes with the front and back cover, spine and the pages, its fantastic and gives so many possibilities for decorating. The inside pages were also coloured with Distress Paints and I also stitched my mop up kitchen towel to the inside of the cover along with smaller hearts. I also included the fabulous sentiment from Tim Holtz Handwritten thoughts stamp set. I also included random stitching to add further interest.
I have added random stitching to each of the pages along with die cut hearts.
I added natural twine to bind the pages together, I love the mix of natural twine and the Distress Paints.

I would also like to enter this piece into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which this time around is "Just A Hint Of Clover". Simon Says Stamp is also offering a fabulous $50 prize.
