HALLOWEEN TREATS

Today it is my turn to share my challenge piece for the Art With Heart Challenge using Eileen Hull products. Our challenge this month is "Fall into Place". The lazy days of summer have come to an end, leaves are falling and routines are falling BACK into place. Fall themes, organizing/storage projects, home decor and more will "fall" under this month's theme.
As soon as I think of Autumn my thoughts always turn to HALLOWEEN, I love October when all the shops are full of Halloween treats and all the autumnal colours we are surrounded by in the garden along with the crispness in the air, a wonderful season. I am showcasing Eileen Hull's fabulous Scoreboard XL Block/Cube Die to create my Halloween house along with Eileen Hull's Decorative Frame Die to create my card.
I used the Block/Cube die to create my hauted house and then added die cuts to the outside edges using Tim Holtz Graveyard On The Edge Die. To add further texture I also used a hot glue gun to add blobs and streaks of glue to the outside of the house. I then painted everything black using Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Paint and then dry brushed with Rusty Hinge and touches of Fired Brick Distress Paint.
I painted a plastic skeleton with paints and again dry brushed areas to highlight the detail. I also included a dimensional pumkin using Tim Holtz mini Acorn and Pumpkin dies. I die cut 6 pumpkins and then adhered them together and then coloured with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, adding a good coat of Crackle Clear Rock Candy to the top. Once dry I highlighted the crackle with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.I also added an Apothecary Remnant Rub for added interest to the pumpkin.
If you look closely you will also see that I have added the Graveyard on the edge die pieces to the inside of my Halloween house and again dry brushed with paints to highlight the detail.
I used the mini Cat and Raven die to add the Raven to the top of my house along with a spider die cut using the Candlelight Fright die, again both pieces have been painted with black and dry brushed with Rusty Hinge Distress Paint. I have also added some black mesh type material for added texture adding more hot glue gun melted pieces for added texture.
Die cuts added arount all the edges of my house again with lots more hot glue gun melted pieces too.
Now onto the card. The background has been created using Orange Blossom and Potting Soil Archival Re-inkers and Rubbing Alcohol a technique shared by Wendy Vecchi. I then took Tim Holtz Gothic Layering Stencil and then applied VersaMark ink through the stencil and then applied clear embossing powder over the top.Next I added Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the top of the embossing and then polished the piece with a dry piece of kitchen towel. I love this effect.
I die cut the Eileen Hull Decorative Frame from mountboard and then coloured with Wild Honey Distress Ink and applied Clear Rock Candy Crackle to the top, once dry I highlighted the cracks with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I then stamped the central circular panel with the cat image from Tim Holtz Halftone Halloween stamp set. I then created a HALLOWEEN banner using the Halloween Layering Stencil, colouring the background with Wild Honey Distress Ink and then applying Potting Soil Archival Ink through the stencil and then sprinkling with clear embossing powder.
Remnant Rubs add a further layer of interest to my design and I love the texture the crackle adds along with the detailed embossed background.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate all your comments. I cannot wait to see what you create for this months challenge, maybe like me you will start on those Halloween makes. Wherever inspiration takes you, ENJOY! Tracy x x
