JANUARY BLUES

Do you have the post holiday blues? Is it rainy and dreary where you live? Perhaps you've escaped to warmer climates for a tropical fix! Or perhaps you are like me and adore the colour blue in your artwork. Whether you take the word blue to mean a colour of state of mind - this week we're all about all things blue at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
This week I just wanted to enjoy the creative process, no set plan in my mind. I had the Crafter's Workshop Mini Whimsical Vines Template on my desk and decided to just play for the fun of it!
I had some tissue left over from some packaging and decided I would incorporate this into my artwork. I cut a piece of card 5" x 7".
Apply Multi Matt Medium to the white card.
Crumple the tissue and then add to the adhesive and press down to ensure good contact.
Once the adhesive is dry apply Broken China Distress Ink around the card.
Place the Whimsical Vines Template onto the surface and apply White Embossing Paste over the Template and then remove and set aside to dry. Add a second Vine to the design.
I love the fantastic texture the Embossing Paste adds to any design.
Add a small amount of Sky Fresco Finish Paint to a Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Place the mask back over the embossed design.
Apply the Sky paint through the stencil onto the Embossing Paste using Cut 'n' Dry Foam.
Apply a tiny amount of Inky Pool Fresco Finish Paint to the Cut 'n' Dry Foam.
Add touches of the Inky Pool paint to the design to give definition. Repeat this process for the second Vine.
Apply Olive Bronze Treasure Gold Wax over the design to highlight the wonderful texture and dimension.
Add Olive Bronze Wax to the edges of the design to highlight the texture from the tissue paper.
Place the Classic Words stencil onto the design and apply Inky Pool paint over the 'FRAGILE' wording.
Remove the template and add FRAGILE wording once again around the edges of the card.
Die cut a Bitty Blossom from Core'dinations card.
Roll the flower to create the dimensional blossom and then apply Olive Bronze Treasure Gold Wax to the petals.
I love how the Olive Bronze Treasure Gold really highlights the wonderful texture and dimension in my design.
The tissue gives my card a real tactile feel.
The Bitty Blossom has been added to the top of my design.
For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and take a look at my fellow team members artwork, they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

I also love your embossed leaves and the way you've colored them with the Fresco Paints. So very pretty. The added touches of the Treasure Gold really adds alot of richness to the card!
