Happy Bird Day

Time for our next stamp set from Creative Expressions and this time around we are using BIRDS A5 stamp plate by Sam Poole.
I decided on a tag this week using an inky background. I applied Distress Stains wild honey, spiced marmalade and picket fence to my craft sheet and then swiped my tag through the ink, reapplying until I was happy with the coverage. I then added a little fired brick distress stain to my craft sheet and dabbed my tag into the ink. Machine stitchine was then added to the outside edge for a little more interest.
I stamped the bird house onto the tag with coffee Archival Ink adding a little dimension to the heart. I cut a heart from white card and added Distress Stains as before but adding more spiced marmalade this time around. A little faux stitching was added to the outside edge and I then stamped my bird and branch with coffee Archival Ink. I stamped the bird a second time for a little dimension.
I stamped the heart from the bird house twice onto white card and coloured with Distress Stains and added to my tag. For more interest I added a band to the bottom of my tag stamped the swirl and little bird, coloured with Distress Inks and then spritzed with water, adding fired brick ink to the edges.
I stamped the flying birds to the top of my tag and added the sentiment "Happy Bird Day".

Thanks for stopping by, Tracy x x
