STRIPES For Simon Says

It's Monday and that means time for another challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show. I am definitely in the mood for Christmas, highlighted by this weeks DT piece, a Christmas accordion card. The striped background has been created using the background stamp from Wendy's Art Fit For A Queen. Both sides have been decorated using Wendy's  The Art Of Making It Merry, Tim's Season's Silhouettes, Christmas Miracle, Reindeer Flight, along with the Carved Ornaments and Pine Tree dies.

The accordion is created from a sheet of 12" x 12" Bazzill card stock. Once I added the stripes to each section I coloured with Distress Ink Fired Brick and added machine stitching to a couple of the areas.
The reverse of the accordion has had the same stripes added, which I absolutely love for Christmas. Another favourite technique of mine is to add letters to jump rings adhered with Glossy Accents and I have added these throughout the accordion.
I have added some dimension to my trees adding layers stamped onto music paper from an old Hymn book and coloured with Distress Ink Peeled Paint. JOY and TREE have been added to Jump Rings along with JOY from the Seasonal Salvage Stickers.
The Poinsettia from The Art of Making It Merry set has had the same treatment as the tree again stamped onto music paper from an old Hymn book and coloured with Distress Ink Fired Brick and to complete I have added a Christmas Muse Token.  The reindeer is stamped onto card, cut out and stripes added to match my background piece. The background stamping is from the Season's Silhouettes stamped in black Archival Ink. The little ticket is from Tim's Odds and Ends set of stamps. REINDEER has been added to jump rings.
The bauble from the Carved Ornaments die has again been cut from music paper and added in layers to give dimension and coloured with Distress Ink Fired Brick.  I have added a couple of Christmas brads from my stash (there are also some fabulous ones here that would fit perfectly) along with more jump rings to add BAUBLE to the bottom of the page.
The reindeer has been stamped on top of the stripes in black Archival Ink and machine stitching added to the outside edge. The bookplate is from the Tag and Bookplates die, cut from card, the background stamp added from The Art Of Making It Merry along with NOEL added to jump rings. The tree is cut using the Pine Tree die coloured with Distress Ink Peeled Paint and again machine stitching added to the outside edge.
The pine trees have been stamped in Peeled Paint Distress Ink and white highlights added with a Gel Pen. Subtle snowflakes have been added to the background with Fired Brick ink along with the sentiment Make It Merry and machine stitching.
The final section has my image stamped in black Archival Ink, a Muse Token added along with some Tidings Tissue Tape.

Pop over to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog and take a look at my fellow team members they have created some inspirational projects and remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated.  Enjoy your week. Tracy x x
