Felting Workshop

I took some time out from gardening and the allotment on Saturday and attended Sarah Anderson's felting workshop at The Cubby Hole.
We began with some wet felting, the samples of which you can see on the left hand side and the bar of soap we covered at the top, I have to say this was great fun and for once my hands were extremely clean, which is very unusual for a Sarah workshop LOL. I will use these in some artwork in the future. I created the owl using Sarah's embellisher machine, well that was a BIG mistake as I was hooked within 5 minutes and it took me all of half an hour to order one when I arrived home; this hobby of mine is becoming very expensive.
The two circles and small heart were needle felted, something I am really enjoying at the moment, it's so therapeutic, well apart from when you stab yourself with the needle LOL.  The large heart was created on the embellisher machine.
A close up of the large heart, I just love the texture on this piece and the combination of colours, I may add a few more beads and embellishments to this at some point.
The small heart which I needle felted, I love the earthy tones on this piece and all the loose fibres, shame you cannot have touch sensors on your screen as this piece is very tactile and so much texture.
I will use these two circles as flowers on a project sometime in the future.  I had a great time at the workshop, thanks Sarah.  Enjoy your week, Tracy x x

  2. How I wish I lived up yonder and could have come to this workshop! Your pieces are lovely. I too yearn for an embellisher, am very envious of your order. Can't wait to see what you do next. I think needle felting is very theraputic too, much better than tablets or analysis! x

  3. Tracy, how marvellous. I so want to do all this with my six sheep, (fleece) which I have had for two years.
The things you have made are really beautiful. I can understand you wanting an embellisher. I
looked into it a while ago and could not believe how expensive they were!
When you get yours, Tracy you will have so much pleasure from it. Keep us posted!!

    Gorgeous, gorgeous work!

  11. These are beautiful!! The colors are so rich! I think it was in Orkney that we stopped at a woman's house that sold beautiful felt items. I bought a pin and a table runner with celtic symbols in it--aside from all the Scotch, they are my most treasured souvineers!

  15. I'm leaving a comment here about your beautiful blue mermaids, which I really love, stunning! Unfortunatly something is wrong with the comments box and I can't get to leave this in the right place as there is print over it! Is it my computer or is every one having this problem? Lovely work Tracy. x

  16. Hi Tracey, love the felt stuff :-) I was the same with the embellisher; smitten and bouth very quickly; but haven't used it for ages - I will use it when I sort out the spare bedroom into a sewing room!
I love the Stampotique stuff too but couldn't leave a comment there 'cos your owl was in the way :-/
