Altered Canisters

It's time for another challenge with Eileen Hull's Art With Heart Challenge and this month the team are showcasing Eileen's dies combined with DecoArt Inc products in a Mixed Media Mayhem.

I decided to create three mixed media canisters using Eileen Hull's Canister die combined with DecoArt Media range of products.
I began by die cutting all the parts I needed from mountboard. I reduced two of the canisters by an inch in size.
I then painted all the die cut pieces with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Green Gold.
Once the paint was completely dry on the die cuts I then added embossing paste through the Tim Holtz Flourish Layering Stencil and set aside to dry. On the smaller of the Canisters I applied Medium Grey Antiquing Cream and once dry I then removed some of the cream to reveal the green layer underneath and then applied a glaze over the top to make it permanent. At this stage I also sanded and painted one of Tim Holtz Trophy Cups with Green Gold Media Acrylic and I also die cut several hearts using Tim Holtz Heartfelt Die and applied DecoArt Media Crackle Paste to the top using a palette knife.
Before assembling the Canisters I applied a wash of Green Gold Acrylic over the top of the embossing paste and then assembled each canister. On the largest Canister I added the Trophy Cup attaching with rusty wire and added one of Tim Holtz Salvaged Dolls. I also die cut two further hearts, painting with Green Gold Acrylic and then adding Antiquing Cream to the top and once dry rubbing away some of the cream to reveal the paint underneath. I added inspirational wording using Remnant Rubs.
I added numbers to the top of the Canister using Andy Skinner's Industrial Elements Stencil, using Titanium White Antiquing Cream through the stencil, allowing to dry and then rubbing lightly over the top with kitchen towel. I also then applied a wash of Green Gold Acrylic over the top of the numbers. To complete I added a Hitch Fastener to the top.
On the medium Canister I added Medium Grey Antiquing Cream to the top of the Green Gold Acrylic, allowed to dry and then rubbed away some of the cream with kitchen towel and then used a glaze over the top to protect. I also added numbers once again using Andy Skinner's Stencil and Titanium White Antiquing Cream adding a wash of Green Gold Acrylic over the top. I added a Prima pull to the centre along with a Salvaged Doll, including a die cut heart with inspirational wording added using Remnant Rubs.
Remnant Rubs have been added to the top edge of each Canister along with a stencilled number to the top and Hitch Fastener.
On the smallest of the Canisters I added a die cut heart covered with DecoArt Media Crackle Paste, painted with Green Gold Acrylic and then Medium Grey Antiquing Cream added to the top. Once dry I then rubbed away some of the Antiquing Cream and then sealed with a glaze to protect. I also attached a Salvaged Doll, attached with rusty wire.
Once again Remnant Rubs have been added to the top edge and a Hitch Fastener to the top.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I cannot wait to see your entries this month in our Mixed Media Mayhem challenge. Tracy x x x
