Good Luck

Are you down on your luck? Perhaps you found your lucky rainbow and pot of gold? Do you feel like today is, quite simply, your lucky day? Whatever your mood and however you would like to interpret this challenge, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge could not resist having a lucky challenge since this week it falls on St. Patrick's Day.
It’s St. Patrick’s Day, a perfect opportunity for me to use plenty of green in my design this week with the aid of Distress Inks Peeled Paint and touches of Forest Moss. I also wanted to incorporate Shamrock in my design, something we all associate with this special occasion. However, with no Shamrock images or products in my collection I had to think outside the box and decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Large Heart Set Die to create my three leaf clover and I am quite pleased with the outcome. Using the Tim Holtz Harlequin Layering Stencil gave me the perfect backdrop to my design.

I placed the Harlequin Layering Stencil over my background and applied Peeled Paint and touches of Forest Moss to add a shadow. To add further interest I added background stamping using the background stamp from the Classics 9 Stamp Set.

I die cut three hearts from white card using the Simon Says Stamp Large Heart Die and then coloured with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Inks. I scored each heart down the centre and bent to add shape. I added 'luck' to the centre using the Simple Sayings Stamp Set along with a coordinated button and twine for added dimension and texture.
I distressed the edges of my card with a Paper Distresser and then added my decorated piece to coordinated card and then added the sentiment 'good luck' to a banner and affixed to the bottom of my card.

For more great ideas please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and take a look at my fellow team members artwork, they have created some inspirational projects. Remember there is also the chance to win a $50 prize from Simon Says Stamp.  I always look forward to seeing your creations each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated. Tracy x x

  16. I truly adore this card! Green can be a tricky color for me to get right: I either go neon or drab! But the shade of green you used and the color palette you pulled together is absolutely lovely. And how clever to use hearts as shamrocks! Lucky me for being able to see this post because you totally inspired me!

  28. Tracy...your Good Luck card is so pretty. Love the harlequin in the background. That shade of green is so pretty against the white background. The torn edges are really effective behind the layers of green cardstock and banners of white and green. Love the very pretty shamrock, too! That button center and twine vine is such a clever idea! <3 Candy
