Discover Your Wings

This week I am using the Leafy Background stamp and MDF Frame from Creative Expressions to create a dimensional piece of art.
The background has been painted with Peeled Paint Distress Paint and the edges have been sanded and Potting Soil Archival Ink applied to the edeges. I have also added random background stamping using the background stamp from Tim Holtz Classics 9 Stamp Set.
I have added natural twine and a Bitty Blossom to the centre of my frame, adding Golden Light Gilding Wax to the petals. For added dimension I have also included Metal Leaf Embellishments.
Background stamping has been added to each aperture using the Leafy Background stamp and Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I have added natural twine around each aperture for added texture. The butterfly in the centre of two of the panels is from Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings Stamp Set. I have stamped the butterfly onto green card using Potting Soil Archival Ink and then dipped it into hot Beeswax which I have melted in a Melt Pot using a Project Pan. I have then applied Golden Light Gilding Wax over the Beeswax to add highlights to the wings.
'Discover your Wings' has been stamped onto white card with Potting Soil Archival Ink and then dipped into Beeswax and added to the bottom of the frame.
Bitty Blossoms have been added to the bottom of the frame cut from cream and green card. The green blossoms have had Golden Light Gilding Wax added to the petals and the cream flowers have had Peeled Paint Distress Ink added to the petals.
Two hearts have been added to two of the apertures created using a cookie cutter placed onto the Leafy Background stamp and hot Black Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel poured into the cutter. Once cool, remove the heart from the stamp and then highlight the fabulous dimension and texture with Gilding Wax. Remember to always apply Perfect Medium to your stamp before pouring hot UTEE, this acts as a release agent.

Don't forget it is "Fun Time Friday" once again on the Creative Expressions Facebook page, simply leave a comment and you could be in with a chance of winning a fabulous prize.
