I decided that the celebrate challenge was not only the perfect time to celebrate Simon Says Stamp and Show birthday but the ideal opportunity to create a piece for my teenage Nephew's birthday. The sentiment "Time To Celebrate" kept running through my mind and my idea was born, combining the time element with the Weathered Clock die and the celebration element with the Tim Holtz Birthday Sketch stamp. I also love to add texture to my pieces and Wendy Vecchi's White Embossing Paste came to my aid. This piece was a joy to create!
I began my canvas by applying Embossing Paste through the Crafter's Workshop Mini Tile Texture template.
I die cut six Weathered Clocks from thick white card.
Added hardware findings to the top of the canvas cut from greyboard for added dimension.
Colour each of the Weathered Clocks with salty ocean Distress Ink.
On the top Weathered Clock I also blended a touch of mowed lawn Distress Ink along with the salty ocean. Adhere all the Weathered Clocks together, giving wonderful dimension to the clock. Decide on the placement of the clock and then die cut "TIME TO CELEBRATE" from greyboard using the Block Talk Alphabet and adhere to the canvas. Remove the clock and then paint the canvas.
Apply salty ocean and mowed lawn Distress Ink to a non stick craft sheet and spritz with water.
Mop of the beads of ink with white card, continue this process until you are happy with the coverage and then stamp the Birthday Sketch image onto the card using black Archival Ink and cut out.
Apply Clear Rock Candy to the Weathered Clock, add a good thick coat.
Spritz the canvas with water and then paint with mowed lawn and salty ocean Distress Paints. Dry the paint with a heat tool to set and then apply more paint if necessary.
I would normally recomment a melt pot for melting Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, however, on this occasion as I was only adding Ultra Thick to one piece I melted my enamel into an aluminium foil cake dish.
Add the hot enamel to the bottle cap, I used tweezers to hold the HOT dish.
I coloured the bottle cap with black soot and salty ocean Distress Paint so that it blended with my canvas.
I added the cake image to the centre of my clock adding the clock fingers to the centre of the cake. I also added a metal tag again painted with Distress Paints and added celebrate using label letters. For added interest and texture I also included some tiny clock parts which I coloured with Treasure Silver wax.
I added the wax over all the raised areas to highlight and also added a hitch fastener and ball chain, again to make my canvas more tactile. To raise the cake away from the Weathered Clock I added a piece of wood to the back of the cake painted with Distress Paint.
Treasure Silver wax has also been added to all the lettering adding a further layer of interest to my canvas.
To add definition to my canvas I added black soot Distress Paint to all the edges.
The Clear Rock Candy also adds wonderful texture to my Weathered Clock.

This is gorgeous, Tracy, just my colours. I had to laugh, I've been hunting all over for that die but it's discontinued now. I thought I'd managed to track it down at last but no, stock number was wrong and the company didn't have any. Just typical isn't it!!! Still, I have the stencil and that works brilliantly to cut out just takes a bit of time, there's always a way isn't there!
Hope all is good with you.
Hugs Lisax
